Azubuike would be good, but i think he's overrated, he's not much better than wafer and Azubuike isn't going to get any better.
Tired of this crap from Houston fans.. Yeah! it would be nice to have TJ ford too.. since he's from Houston and all.. And Emeka Okafor.. AND Rashard Lewis... But you know what?? Damn it, Let it go already! Gerald Green is just NOT THAT good. He's athletic but he's dumb as rocks. Thats why we let him go. It'd be nice for Houston to have their own little cinderella story but that kind of wishful thinking is so cheesy it makes me want to barf. He had his chance in Houston and blew it. Most likely, he won't amount to much in the NBA. He's a guy who hasn't improved much since his days in high school. He's a poor man's JR Smith. But dumber (if that was possible).. and less talented.
While it's not completely fair to say Gerald Green will always be a bust, but thus far, he has been a bust. Everywhere he goes, there are some fans that love him and jock for his playing time, and then the organization ends up dropping him. He wouldn't have nearly as many fans if he just dunked regularly instead of his spectacular dunks. Let's just see what happens by this season's end. I wouldn't be shocked if Green became a rotation player for the Mavs, but I wouldn't bet on it. I actually think there's a legit chance he'll be out of the L in 3 years.
And have a big three of Tmac, Yao, and Batum. Oh wait, thats right. Batum sucks .....Non talent wise.
I don't think Gerald Green could make this team with all of the talent we have. There is no question that Von Wafer is better, he certainly was not going to beet out Barry, Artest, TMac or Shane and SF3 has a garunteed contract. BTW... I miss Derrick Chevious!
Von Wafer is essentially taking Green's spot. Green got released, the Rockets signed Mike Harris, who then was cut (along with Strawberry) before the regular season in favor of Von Wafer. Don't know about anyone else, but I like Wafer better.
At the time I liked Green a lot better, but after watching Von, I am ok with either of them, and I think Von is closer to being a contributor now than Green is..... Von has surpassed Luther IMO. DD
Of course he has. Maybe Luther is a little bit better shooter, but Wafer can also shoot long balls very well. Von in my opinion is more athletic and quicker. He probably handles the ball better as well. Right now Von should be ahead of Luther and even Barry (when comes back) in the rotation.
That's still debatable. Regardless of whether we lose in the 1st round again or not, the Rockets made the the decisions with the best chances to result in success. Don't forget that switching out the Batum pick eventually evolved into landing Ron Artest. Even if we somehow managed to lose again, you'll never be able to convince me that was the wrong decision under the given circumstances.
Oh, and I am still very happy that we dismissed Gerald Green. At this point, he's not conducive to winning, and has a reputation of being a lazy worker. This team doesn't need another player with that reputation, and I'm more than content with what we got in Von Wafer to fill that role. Von is the kind of guy that has worked hard for years to get where he his, and now that he's on the horizon of solidifying his spot on an nba roster, you won't have to worry about him ever not giving 110%. Plus he can defend, shoot, drive, and is one of the most athletic guys on the roster.
Gerald Green is on a one year contract, if he plays well this year, or shows signs of developing, you can bring him back for a cheap contract. DD
