agree, if they lost CP3 or even tyson chandler, for a couple of weeks, they are doom. They do not have anyone on the bench that can give what the starters are doing.
True. Hornets don't seem to be as good as last year. I heard that none of the players in the team respect Byron Scott anymore. I read abt this in a Bill Simmons' article a couple of weeks back. Not sure how true the rumors are.. and btw.. everytime a guy wins coach of the year in the NBA . he gets fired in the next season
Its highly naive for anyone to wish to meet in the playoffs with Utah. I'm not sure if you've realized, but if you want to see the term injury plagued in action, then Utah right now is the textbook definition. There absolute demolishment of toronto without the likes of boozer is a testament to their might. I was watching the game, and the amount of ball movement, cutting, and making the extra pass was literally jaw dropping. They are going to be a frightening team after all-star break once everyone is in their groove and firing on all cylinders.
Portland will make the play-offs but will drop to the bottom half of the top 8 teams. I think Pheonix will miss, unless something major happens. There are too many players who are against the new system. Untill those few players, buy into the new system they will not be a threat. The Mav's need someone other than Terry and Dirk to score some points. They way the West is looking, makes me all the more confident about our position. All it will take is one good stretch by us and a poor stretch by the Laker's and we are a chance to clinch home court. And even if the Laker's do keep winning we can quite easily get second spot.
if no injuries I am going to say Suns. Mavs arnt great either but seem to be good enough to knock off the bad teams. Don't know how you can say Denver over those 2... Billups has made them a very nice side.
it has to be the Suns. There schedule has been ridiculously easy, and they still managed just an average record. Alot of their wins have come against crummy teams, and they are chumps against the good teams.
If I had to bet on a team, I would say the Suns b/c they seem lost at times on the court and there seems to be a lot of room for lots of distractions there. I just keep getting a hunch that their going to have lots of lockerroom problems as soon as they lose three games in a row. Amare doesn't seem happy, Nash seems confused about what he is supposed to do, and Porter seems to be ticking off some Suns players who don't appreciate his style. My other money would be on the Blazers, but I hope they make is b/c I love Roy's game and would love to see Fernandez in the playoffs. My wishlist of teams to not make it would be: -Utah -Mavs -Hornets I hate those teams. Love CP3's game (even though he can be a punk ass at times).
It seems that the Suns are the hot favorite here. I do see them out of the playoffs, because of their radical change of direction. The other might just be the Hornets. Their team simply isn't as deep as others. Well, may be the above 2 teams have the thinest rotation among the 9 teams.
1.Lakers 2.Rockets 3. Jazz 4. Spurs 5. Nuggets 6. Suns 7. Mavs 8. Trailblazers Do not know what will happen after...
I think outside of the Lakers, Portland is Houston's biggest threat. They will be there all year. You really think this? I think they are arguably the most talented team top to bottom in the West. They are loaded, maybe no superstars yet (Roy is close) but the rest of their team is stacked and fits in well together.....and I loves me some Rudy. DD
With what's happening now, I'd say PHX. Terry Porter needs to get his a$$ fired. Portland should scrape in. I'd say: Lakers Mavericks Spurs Jazz New Orleans Rockets Nuggets Trailblazers
Yeah, Portland is probably the most talented team in the NBA and what is more, they are pretty young. But sa you say, they are missing a real superstar. Roy is close but...I kinda dissagree with Barkley simply every time but he's said one great thing about Detroit in last season. He said they were missing a superstar. They had a lot of good player, but none of them was great. This is what Portland is missing. Leadership.
way too early to tell....i believe a big injury will hurt a teams chances to get in, whether it be suns, mavs or even jazz... billups has really calmed the nuggets down and made them more of a poised team. dont underestimate the nuggets talent alone will keep the blazers in the bottom 4 of the playoffs
buddy, try replacing Utah with Houston and Boozer with Tmac in your statement and that should be bout just right it really doesnt matter who u meet in the playoffs, if u wanna be champion, u have to beat everyone, just go ask Dallas how they lost to Warriors couple years back. anyway, i think currently Suns are playing really bad. i believe Shaq is seriously disrupting their offense. trading Marion and firing D'Antoni is their biggest mistake. hornets still look good with CP3, he's one of the players i love watching, so skillful, im pretty sure they're in. i'd say its either suns or blazers, they're still a very young team, an injury to Roy will surely bring them down, they were doing well last year too but came up short after all star
