Yep, took the Island hopper, then went on the Microspirit to all the outer islands. If you ever flew there, at that time the airport had a grass hut for the terminal... Continental is the only ones that went there from Hawaii that I am aware of. I understand it is still pretty much under the tourism radar. (A very difficult place to be in Christian ministry)
Yeah, that whole scene was kinda odd at times...20 or 30 newly released convicted felons wandering the streets in horribly mismatched clothes.
Went to school there in the early 80's. Left for awhile...kicked around the ville again some in the 90's. Haven't lived there since 98. You?
only when my mom got out. unfortunately, i was drunk and there was a pretty bad thunderstorm. to top it off, a train ran over my pickup truck.
Didn't they have a thrift store and a bus station right next to each other about a block away from the Walls unit? You want a trip, go to the cemetery where they have all the people who died in prison. A bunch of very indiscrete grave stones with just a name and a year. Very surreal. Or in the criminal justice center, there's a display of a bunch of homeade weapons that were confiscated from the prison. Some of those weapons are seriously bad news....
