Portland has come a long way from the jailblazers.

    True that.

They're the only team I root for outside of the Rockets. Because I love Oden, Aldridge, and Roy. Fernandez is pretty good too. If they keep that core together, they're going to be unstoppable in a couple seasons. They are already very good. And If Roy is already that good a leader/teammate, then it's icing on the cake.

It's not just everyone caught up in the hype-- Portland is for sure going to be very good the next few seasons if (1) Oden fills the role and (2) they keep the core together. They have a great home crowd and they'll only get better on the road with veteran experience.

Can't believe they want to trade for Conley just because he's Oden's homie though.

Good write-up on one of my favorite NBA players. So many people are talking about him now that Roy may not be underrated any more. I hope the Blazers put up a fight in Boston tonight.

ShadyMcGrady, I share your sentiments and I watch more Blazers games than any other team (except the Rox, of course).

Yeah, and we would never have had to debate about that Gay trade. And TMac's current problems wouldn't have been so magnified. And JVG would probably still be our coach.

And we probably wouldn't have Artest or Scola or Landry or Brooks who knows.

All I know is Brandon probably wouldn't have developed as well as he has if he were in Houston. I'm glad he's in Portland. We/they (die hard Blazers fans) needed him here.

It really hurts when people bring this up because it's indisputable.

I'll defend him till the end on any other issue, but on this, it's indefensible. JVG screwed this franchise by playing Juwan Howard and David Wesley heavy minutes down the stretch in that meaningless win over Denver. It makes you want to punch a wall.

Brandon Roy was everything this team needed at the time, and everything this team still needs to this day. A 2-guard with size, a leader, a point guard, a ball handler, a playmaker, a 3rd scorer, all rolled up together in a young guy with the mental toughness neither of our stars have.

It hurts. You could almost say that the travesty that was our 2006 season would have been worth it had we landed Brandon Roy.

it is ok. If Roy plays behind TMAC and Rafer, he is just another Head.

We wouldn't have to take the risk on Artest. True.

But Scola, Landry, and Brooks? Remember Morey would still be our GM.

Looking at it strictly from a Rockets' fan point of view, we would gladly give up any of those guys to get Brandon Roy. Without blinking. I have no doubt the Rockets would be a better team if we had drafted Roy instead of making the Battier trade. Having someone like him would have sent the team in a completely different direction. He would have filled the leadership vacuum in a hurry.

Portland had already sent a gift to the Rox, sometime last century, somebody named Moses Malone.

Roy woulld've started at SG and T-Mac at SF.

    As for another Head

-one can pass, the other can't
-one can dribble, the other can't
-one was a potential 1st pick, the other isn't
