http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=3744237 Sad. I hope he ends up okay. My best memory of him was a big swoll guy with a smooth left handed jumper.
I still remember when he was at wake, he was a very similar player to jamal mashburn, they don't make em like this too much anymore, true tweeners between small and power fowards in those days. now there a no bulky power fowards.

Just read the article on ESPN. ATV safety is a big issue. Many people think those things are just toys but after two accidents I have had on them I avoid them.
I'd have to agree. When I see people on ATV's I think it's only a matter of time. My wife knew someone who died on one of those stupid things. And I've seen little kids on them too. I feel really really bad for Rogers after reading the article. He seems like a really nice guy.
I'll always remember how he torched the jazz with a bunch of threes in the final seconds in a game when he was on the nuggets. also back when bill walton did clipper games when rodgers was traded to them I remember watching one of the games where he said "Rodney Rodgers when he makes up his mind to score, there is NO ONE I mean NO ONE that can stop him in this league" I could not stop laughing at that because on that very play when Rodgers was posting up he drove left and got his shot blocked. edit: noticed the video where he torched the jazz in an earlier post...nice find!
Awful. Awful. Awful. Poor Rodney and his family. I can't imagine one's self-concept after realizing the reality of paralysis. I sympathize greatly with situations like this. Rod's injury was very different to dumb-@$$ Monta Ellis' injury. Rodney was retired and enjoying one of his hobbies. Much love and respect to the former 6th man of the year. Cod
One of my favorites. Really nice guy--could forgive the fact that he was a NASCAR fanatic. Get well soon!
Didn't know much about him personally when he was playing, but he sounds like a great guy and I'm really sorry to hear about this.
I always thought he was a good player. It seems like when the strike happend , he came back bigger than his usual self. When he wanted to, he was a matchup problem. He was to big for big 4's and too strong for 3's on the block. As far as the atv accident. I had a close friend thrown off one and down a embancment and died. U have to treat atv's just like any motor vehicle.
Wow, Webber is visiting Rodgers on TNT pregame, tripped out to see a great athlete go down like that. we are all mortal
I knew nothing about what kind of person he was off the court. Based on the type of work he was doing since retiring from basketball, he seems like a good guy that wanted to give back and be a productive member of society. Not every rich ex-athlete has that kind of attitude. I'm not saying all of them should but it's still impressive and shows a lot about the character of those like Rodney. Isn't there a small chance he could recover to some extent through rehabilitation depending on the severity of the injury?
Being paralyzed has to be living hell. I can only hope that future treatments are developed that make his life more tolerable.
