Lady Di when did you know that you were ready for marriage? When you were 24 did a long term commitment scare you? Sorry for being direct I needed a woman's opinion on this. I've been away on business for three weeks and all I can think about is her.

I will amend my answer to:

    Just wait until SHE'S 30.

You guys are at two totally different places in your lives. You're 35 with an established career and ready to settle down. She's 24, just out of college and ready to take on the world. Were YOU ready to get married at 24? If the answer is no, then you should probably let her go and find someone closer to your age and experience in life.

    The raw dog test.

you: 'Damn, baby i forgot the rubbers'

her: 'That's fine baby, don't worry about it this time'

if she's willing to have your kids, she's willing to commit.

I hope you already know this, but there's no definite answer to this question. A lot of the advice given (especially the Anne Hathaway part :D) has been pretty good, but it's something you TWO need to talk about. If you can't talk to her about it, you're not ready to get married.

I got married VERY young (22) and so did my wife (20), and while we've only got four years under our belt, it was the right move for us.

    Good luck!

The "young and not ready to settle down" line is stupid.

Being ready to settle down is not predicated by age.

Thanks drummer!! That's very true what you wrote. I've tried leaving the country to stay away from her because I know we do not have future together but it's very hard to let someone you love go without any drama like cheating or some form of abuse. Our relationship is perfect in every way only that sometimes she likes hip hop and I like jazz. I'm attacted to her because she makes me better. I've worked out and lost 15 pounds I wear a size 30 now. She makes me want to be better. I've never had this feelilng with any of my past relationships. That's why I want to marry her.

Don't worry, it'll pass. Seriously, that sounds more like infatuation than love. Do you think you'll continue to feel this way indefinitely? How long have you been dating?

I've knew I wanted to marry my fiance when I was 21! We did have a break last year but we got engaged recently...BTW, I'm 25 going on 26 next month. We're living together and we're still going to get married...let's see if that's the case by our wedding date in 2010. It's just seeing what her priorities are this time. If she's truly in love with you, she will share her priorities with you. She'll ask you to travel with her and stuff like that.

Wait until you argue a lot and then break up, that's your sign.

Smartass me says just hit it and feel young...go with the flow and don't rush things...Just let them happen...

Rational me says if you don't think she's ready, then don't do it...There would be discussion of it before hand so that it's understood you're both ready...
