It will be hard for Yao to ever to become a great passing center like Bill Walton, but he should still learn do a better job passing to the cutters or open men. On offense, he can probably learn more from greats like Kareem than from Hakeem or Moses.
It's not racist. His handle is asian sensation. But if your not asian you can't say it because it would be racist and you'd get your @$$ kicked in the hood. There is a presedent for that kind of stuff ya know?
Good thread hp. Kinda like trying to read a QB's eyes. I've never focused on that cause I'm normally too far to see. Best I can do is see him swiveling his head to keep tabs on the defense. HURR HURR I USE MY EYES TO SEE TOO. Idiots.
Miguel, as SunRocketsFan said, when you are that close, it is easy to get distracted by other ... uh .... sights to see. But, using the football "like looking at a QBs eyes" is not the analogy I was thinking. Yao, isn't the so called QB of bball. My wonder was why is he looking away from his QB. Like he's anticipating having to move in Adelman's system. Just seems odd that Yao needs to do anything like that. Ideally, he stares at the entry man and when the system swings, he instinctively moves with it. It all seemed contrived...like he looked away from the entry man to figure out what he should do next. that said, I'm convinced he eyed the entry man to center the ball because he was fixing to seal him man for that changing entry angle. a lot i thought i saw was pretty cool. a lot seemed like too much thinking that Yao was doing rather than just demanding the ball and accepting a swing by instinctively reactiing to it rather than planning for it. you know what i mean. fwiw: I think Yao is The Rockets. I look forward to witnessing his whole career. whatever he can do, i'm glad to watch it.
Wow this thread is dumb as **** and its getting borderline racist. I really hope you're not Asian cuz its one thing if other races make fun of you but for you to do it to yourself makes you a disgrace to your race. Have some pride in your heritage and stop degrading yourself in front of all these redneck scumbags letting them think its okay to laugh at your expense. Grow some balls and get some self esteem u pu$$y.
i don't think it's anything new. yao always looks around the court in search for double teams and rarely attacks it. it happens every season. there's a reason our offense gets really stagnant when we go to yao repeatedly (and not in stretches).
Yao has the eyes of the mighty eagle that can be swooping down on the pray in a river of meaty trout. He see his victim and begin shimmy down and bite them like the bear. He is better than you. You must know this. He will make trout scared and ladies bothered.
To the tune of Private Eyes, by one of the best groups of the 80's, Hall & Oates: Spoiler i see yao, yao see's me watch you make the pass out of the double team oh man, you've got to know what Head overlooks the stats will show on the chart when it's watching for missed drives you can't escape my heypartner's eyes they're watching yao they see yao's every move heypartner's eyes they're watching yao heypartner's eyes they're watching yao watching yao watching yao watching yao you play the pick, you play the roll you can pass it around baby that ain't enough cause the defense, is gonna know if you're driving it in or letting it go don't lie when you're posting inside cause you can't escape my heypartner's eyes they're watching yao they see yao's every move heypartner's eyes they're watching yao heypartner's eyes they're watching yao watching yao watching yao watching yao when the defender is fronting me i'm alone but on the weak side you see pull the chair, so the defender slides i'll still know yao look into my heypartner's eyes...
Hall & Oates are mantastic.... I can't stand those guys. That picture with the lil boy made me laugh soo hard.
Oops, I forgot to comment... Yao is too methodical, taking a second to see if a double comes or not, and then taking a few seconds trying to back his man down in the post. All that time gives the defense a chance to strip him. The same thing should happen almost every time - catch and drop step, take a shot, or pass it out in the middle of his shot when someone rushes over to double. I bet he makes a higher percentage of shots when he takes it in the first 1-2 seconds.
So you condone racist jokes? So you can say whatever you want just because you think it's a joke? I hope you are just joking because what you said is beyond stupid.
professorjay, that was pretty funny. ok, sorry, let me try again. I saw Yao communicating with the passer by using his eyes. Instead of hand signals, he was motioning with his eyes. When he wanted to reposition himself (what we call "seal" his defender), I saw him signal with his eyes to pass the ball from the wing to the top of the circle, so the next player would have a better angle to provide an entry pass. I liked that. I also saw him look away from his passer, too much. Most centers and power forwards will stare at the passer while fighting for post position. When Yao looks away, he's not ready for a pass. It appeared Yao was looking to see where his teammates were moving. But that should be instinctive. He should not have to plan his next move around his teammates; they should plan their moves around him. I worry he is thinking too much, because he is still not comfortable with coach Adelman's motion offense. Jeff van Gundy kept it much simpler for Yao.
I was refering to the presedent that if I were not black and I called someone a n%^&a I would get my ass kicked in the hood.
