I used to think that too back in the day when he was dominating.

But now he's on Miami...and the Heat still suck.

Terry Porter SUCKS. They have a good team, it's just that ever since Steve became GM for them, everything's been going downhill. I'm really concerned with the way Amare has been playing lately... God bless my fantasy team.

I know that Marion was wanting out of there but why the hell they went for Shaq is beyond me and then they try to build around him when he's almost as old as Deke is just crazy. They let a great coach go and then bring in Porter who knows even less and then you have the old Suns squad that wants to run but knows they can't because they got dumpy old shaq chunkin down the court its just very awkward to watch. The Rockets may have their problems but not as bad the Suns have it this year. I can see a major name on that team being traded before the trade deadline.

Steve Kerr has been a horrible GM so far.
Terry Porters weird system can also be at blame for Phoenix sucking.
Oh and Nash is old now.

When Nash threw himself into the scorer's table after getting the Robert Horry hip check in 2007 playoffs you could hear the door slam on the Suns' Championship contender status. Losing Marion in exchange for Shaq certainly sealed their fate.

    Side note:
Why Steve Kerr added Terry Porter is beyond me. When did adding an inexperienced, not particularly bright, hardass of a coach make a team trying to win a Championship better? Dumb, Dumb move.

They definately didn't lose their Championship contender status after the 2007 playoffs. They lost the game without Amare by only 3 points, after closing out the one that got him suspended. Against the Spurs, that was pretty impressive.

Terry Porter....we will just have to wait and see.

They lost in 6 games and have not been a contender since. I'd say the door definitely slammed.

They were 20 games over .500 with Marion. They finished the season almost 30 games over .500 with Shaq. How much better do you have to be to be considered a contender?

They were really flawed and Pop picked them apart in those areas Phx was weak at

Tony Parker made Nash work on defense and bounce him off screens like ping pong balls and tire his old legs out. Yes Raja bell was the primary defender on Parker but Tony's eyes lit up when he saw Nash guarding him.

Hack a Shaq...it disrupts the rhythm and flow of the team.

I'm not really surprised. Steve Kerr has zero awareness of reality.

The problem with Phoenix are the players. Guys like Nash who are being stubborn. They need to realise that they were a one dimensional team. Now, that they are being asked to play some defense and not shot in less than 7 seconds the are having a hissy about it.

Terry Porter might not have been teh best move. There may have been a better choice out there, but what he is trying to do is a good thing. The Sun's players need to realise there is a time to run the break anda time to utilise Shaq.

Suns should trade Amare to a team like the Bulls who really need help.

The Suns should do what's best for themselves like every other team.

Absolutely true, when he left, it created a huge hole in that team.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Terry Porter is the next coach to be fired. It seems like he doesn't know what he is doing with this team.

Shaq is just not dominant anymore to be considered as a consistent scorer, Nash more of a playmaker than scorer.. They only have Amare as the main scorer, while other players are inconsistent.

You can see today that Amare already has 19 points before the 2nd quarter ends, but they are behind 57-38 with under 3 minutes to go before half time. Means Amare has half of the team scoring.
