For under $100? Mine just don't support the music I listen to. They rattle when there is any sort of low-end whatsoever.

I don't feel like starting a new thread, because hopefully this one will suffice. Anyone know where to get a good deal on an iPod Touch? Is it a lot better than the Classic? They seem to be pricing similarly.
I have the Bose earplugs...they are on sale at Best Buy...well they were this past weekend. I think for $79. They are pretty good.
I haven't ran with these. But they came with different eartips that you can try on to see which one fit you the best. As far as I can tell, they are pretty secure.
i have no info on a deal.. but in terms of the product vs. the classic.. you're talking about 2 different products. The Classic is a straight mp3/video player/photo viewer with a ton of storage. HD based.. the Touch is Flash memory based, has a bigger screen, allows you to browse the internet and check your e-mail, download apps and play games, etc.. (and you're talking about 120 GB vs. 8 GB or whatever the Touch is at now...max would be 16 GB if they've gotten there I'm guessing)
Do they support loud low-end (or thumping bass, for lack of a better term) without breaking up? I like to have my music pretty loud because I listen on the bus and need to drown out all the douchebags blabbing on their cell phones.
you may not care, but your ears would be better off if you listened at a lower volume with noise-cancelling headphones (getting the same perceived volume) as opposed to turning the volume up to drown out the sound from outside..
A really good pair of in-ear buds (highly recommend Shure, price be damned) should double as earplugs and take care of the noise, even if your music is turned off. Crummy ear buds like the ones ipod ships its stuff with are the worst possible headphones out there. Uncomfortable, does not seal off your ear and have poor audio quality (worst of both worlds from old school headphones). There are some in-ear buds that also have noise-canceling capabilities. These are fantastic for flying. JVC's got a really good one that you can find for around $80. iTouch top model holds 32 GB. The Touch vs Classic isn't a which one is best argument - apple choose to deviate the models rather than trying to find a one device that's perfect for everything approach. If you want to have an iPod that hold your entire library of music (and a fair amount of TV shows), the classic is the call. If you want a great iPod for flying/traveling, the iTouch is the perfect device for watching movies on. Computers don't slip into your pocket (or fit well once the guy in front of you puts his seat down), and the iPod Classic's screen isn't big enough for you to watch a widescreen film, unless you're into Dora the Explorer. iTouch can hold ~20 films, but you have to decide how you're going to divide up the space if you want more than just video on there. Personally, I've got a Touch (video/traveling), Classic (music library), and Nano (jogging/cycling). None of them really work great for all things, but together I love them. Evan
Then I would go with the Bose Noise Cancelling ones...a little more expensive but they are great on airplanes. They were also on sale....they DO NOT breakup. I listen to everything too.......except Rap.
i have the Etymotic MicroPro ER-4P for critical listening. they are very expensive but true reference quality. i use the Audio-Technica ATH-ANC7 for riding the subway and tooling around town. i prefer over the ear cans when i'm on the move. i think you can get them for under $100.
The marketing people at Apple would probably give you a hug after reading that. Three ipods! Not knocking you, I just find it interesting. Of course even if their were a solution that was good for all situations, would they really even want to do that? Then everyone would be happy with just one ipod. On the topic though, I've got a pair of Bose over the ear headphones. They sound great and are pretty comfortable, but not completely noise cancelling. I think they were about $100 (they were a gift).
The E6's are getting really good reviews on Amazon. Pretty inexpensive too. So far these sound like exactly what I'm looking for. The Bose ones look good, but they are too big. Maybe a little out of my price range.
No one should ever support Bose. Their infomercials are reason enough alone. If you want real quality go with the pro-sound brands like Shure. Also do not turn it up to much. You can easily ruin your hearing with these things.
