Morey did basically the same in trading for Bobby Jackson and 2 picks for Artest. We don't have any big expiring contracts like Kwame Browns 10 mil that produced Gasol. The biggest expiring contract we have now is Steve Francis at 2.6 mil.

Guys like Landry, Hayes and probably even Dorsey are athletic enough. The problem is that all three suffer from a lack of size.

This isn't that great of a problem in the regular season, but I'm afraid it will become an issue (yet again) in the playoffs, where bigger frontcourts will try to take advantage.

At this point, we can hope for another miraculous performance by Mutombo if and when he comes back for the second half of the season. I'd be more comfortable, though, if Morey can find a way to add a longterm solution to the frontcourt size problem.

The way things are looking right now, I'm thinking it will be in 2010.

Bibby is in the final year of his contract. He know's adelman's system and has played with artest. The hawks are a young team and could use battier's leadership.

Do people even think of trade proposals before making them here? Atlanta is getting Josh Smith back tommorrow and they were undefeated with him. They have managed to play ok basketball without him. They have Bibby, and then Acie Law. Why would they trade for Battier? It makes absolutely no sense. If anything, they would rather have the cap relief Bibby gives them then Battier. They are a good , young team.

This team isn't rebuilding until 2010. That should be obvious to anyone. We've traded away young talent for Artest and Battier. Rafer, Yao and TMac expire in 2010. This team will never get rid of Yao btw. It's not happening. That will be your building block to start with in 2010.

You can't be loaded at every position. We have 3 Superstar players. Most teams can't say that have three positions with all-star caliber players.

I like that trade but I am not sure it is doable. The Hawks will be getting 2 expired contracts by 2010 and a solid player in Battier.

Man the questions get easier and easier..

2010 Just wait people.. We'll be able to get rid of T-mac and replace him with a legit superstar and hopefully get a chance to get a athletic/tall/shot blocking big plus a decent PG.

Are chances of not resigning Yao is about the same as me winning the lottery so I never put my 2 cents on that issue.

man 2010 is still 2 years away I am not sure I can handle the season frustrations for 2 more, plus what makes you think that Yao would want to play here if he never wins a playoff series? or what would make us want to sign him if he gets weaker and slower?

unless we trade yao ming, otherwise all deals make no sense. decent PG? bob sura was good and still got flamed by yao fans. bigman? how many PF we tried after we drafted yao? why we need a "superstar" who cant reb or block or dunk and has huge weakness on def, only good offence on ceterin matchups opponents, why? oh right cash cow, but none of my business since les wont spend extra $$ on this team anyway.

    1) what makes you think that Yao would want to play here if he never wins a playoff series?

    A) Because he is loyal and the organization has treated him very well. He is there golden ticket and they have tried ( In Yao's eyes ) to surround him with talent to get over the hump.

    2) what would make us want to sign him if he gets weaker and slower?

    A) Your forgetting about about the bottom line Egypt.. He is a cash cow.. He can average 1pt 1rbd for a season and the Rockets still want him on the team just because of the marketing aspect and affiliation with a Chinese star.

Do I want him on the team? No but you can't get past the bottom line. And to Les Alexander that is what it's about. He has lost roughly 300-400 Million in the past year or so through his company. I say he cares a lot about the money than on winning.

Yao will remain a cash cow as long as he can perform for the Chinese National Team, not the NBA and if he is not able to perform or focuses on the NBA only then he becomes as worthy as any super star in the league and we have seen many of those come and go.
