I'm having trouble with my car.

When I press the breaks, none of the lights turn on. That's problem one. After that, I cannot move my car because I can't shift gears. I feel like this is an electrical problem. Feels like both problems are correlated. I checked the fuses, they seem fine.

Any suggestions or help anyone can give me. I already called someone that can come help me, but they haven't came yet. I also called a mechanic but his sho is open till tomorrow. I'm just wondering if there is anythign I can do in the mean time.

A sensor that detects when you've pushed the break pedal down is burned up and needs to be replaced -- it's cheap.

Just a guess from what you've told us, but something to look at first because it's a cheap fix.

This is what I thought it was and question to you is where do I find that break sensor. I have a 1999 Honda Accord. I checked the fuse in the fuse box and I even replaced it with a spare fuse and that doesn't seem to be the problem. Where would those sensors be located at?

I really do appreciate the help.

Brake light switch. It would be mounted at the top of the brake pedal.

You can't shift because the switch isn't "telling" the shifter that you've pressed the brake pedal.

Thank you very much. Problem is now fixed. Very inexpensive to fix. One question, when changing the brake light switch do I have to get it calibrated? My friend was telling me something about calibration and I'm wondering if you know anything about it.

    Once again, thank you.

No, just make sure it's position correctly, and the bracket is not bent. Have someone check the lights, that they come on with minimal movement of the brake pedal, or that the shifter unlocks with minimal movement of the pedal.

...and thanks for "thanks". I rarely get that at work from customers, since I rarely get to talk to them.

You should check into the recent Honda jerk circle. I'm pretty sure it is somehow your fault because according to those guys Honda's never have any problems. Ever.
