Yeah, Harris just thoroughly embarrassed Deron Williams the other day, from start to finish. He finally broke out. Cuban was dumb to make this move.
Key words=Last 4 games......... Rafer has had 4 game stretches where he has taken more shots than Mcgrady, does not make him the first option........... RJ was the most efficient scorer on the nets. He got to the line 10 times a game.......He was a beast last year......He was doing what Devin is doing, but for 82 straight....... The players play the game, not the staff........Richard Jefferson would get his minutes, and his shots......alot of them The ball starts in rafers hands too but that does'nt mean dookie boy..... I guess Devin thought Richard the better scoring option and decided to deferhim the rock last season.......smart kid..... No **** sherlock, and Stephon Marbury is leaving the Knicks? Where was it last year? He is almost 26, Are you telling me he went from 15 and 6 guy to Chauncy-Baron-Deron esque in 3 months at nearly 26??? Give me one of those true "elite" guys 10 out of 10 times in any game opposed to Harris...........
knote, Check out Harris' game logs from the end of last season. He had plenty of big performances since becoming a starter: http://www.sportsline.com/nba/players/player/gamelogs/2007/498285 He was actully averaging more apg last season as a Net (6.5) then this season (6.4). He is scoring more now (25 ppg) but his scoring was up last season, too (15 ppg), with both Dallas and NJ. He was also getting over 30 mpg for the first time in his career. His minutes have gone up even more this season and the results are obvious. I'm sure his ppg would be down if Jefferson was there but I still think he would have improved noticeably with the additional playing time. If you add Jefferson to the Hornets, I'm sure Paul's scoring would go down, too. Right now, Paul doesn't have a perimeter player that needs the ball in his hands and scores off the dribble like RJ. Stojakovic and Peterson just camp out on the perimeter waiting to jack up shots. I'm not sure why you are trying so hard to downplay Harris. He may not be a top 5 PG but he isn't far behind and it doesn't look like a fluke. He was already showing signs of his real potential at the beginning of last season when Avery made him a starter.
I got to agree with BrooksBall and I will go so far as to say he is playing like a top 5 PG. People knocking on Harris are just haters from his time with the Mavs. Watch him play but imagine it as if you were watching an entirely new rookie. People would be exploding comments like he's the second best PG in the league. His uncanny ability to get to the rim is like Tony Parker. He finishes worse but has more angles because of his length. When Parker takes over a game - he simply wins it - but no one gives him credit because he's not a playmaker PG. Devin Harris is doing the same but with a better outside shot and more defense. He is flat out winning games for New Jersey and deserves more credit.
Haven't seen him play much since the trade. I always thought that he was going to take over the starting job in Dallas someday. BTW, he's one of the best floppers in the league.
All I am saying is that he is not on the level of Chauncey and BDiddy, which I think is a fair assessment. Yet I was called "an idiot" for that, which I thought was kind of a joke......... I mean, really, 7 game series, If you would take Devin Harris over Chauncey or Baron etc., that is all I was disputing......... I agree with what you posted just now.........But I am not on the longterm, Devin Harris is an elite point guard "bandwagon", if you can feel me.......
If he stays healthy, I think Devin Harris has a good chance to surpass both Chauncey and BD this season. I like Chauncey a lot and sort of like BD, but both guys have always been inefficient and overrated, IMO. I know they bring other things to the table. But Chauncey is old, in decline and his last 2 playoffs haven't been that good. I think getting away from Avery Johnson has allowed Harris to finally be himself. In addition, he's finally added a mid-range jumper that almost makes him unguardable. Of course, we have to wait a while to see what kind of production and consistency he maintains over an entire season. I'm especially interested if he can keep up both the scoring average and shooting percentage. He's also not the most durable guy in the world. But in a theoretical 7 games series this post-season, it wouldn't surprise me if Harris abused either BD or Chauncey.
No I called you an idiot because you said if RJ was put back onto the nets team that harris would become a 13 and 5 player. ANd I wont be posting rebuttals anymore as you seemingly cannot hold up an arguement without 1. Skewing my words. 2. Being stuck in tunnel vision 3. Contradicting yourself. Thankyou and goodbye.
Rebutals of any kind should not start with "You are an idiot". Very, very classy...... If you disagree that is fine, no need to be a dickcheese about it....... Great, the less posts the better...... Fine by me.......
Gentlemen, gentlemen..........my bad, it's shizzle and 32. Children, children. This is a discussion forem, not a name calling playground.
