Can the Rockets expect performances like the one Kenny did against the Hawks on a more consistent basis. Now that is the big question. However, the Rockets will have some more time to evaluate how good Kenny can become before comitting millions of dollars to him.

Can Kenny really be the Starting powerforward for the championship Rockets?

And if he can, then who do you draft in the NBA Draft?

Nope...he's just not big enough to be a starting PF for a championship caliber team. He could be a fantastic back-up player on a championship team. Look for Kenny Thomas to have a long, decent career of 13 point, 9 rebound games...probably off the bench eventually...or a "better" career of 16 points, 10 rebounds a game starting for some bad team his whole career.

Who was the Rockets starting PF in '94-'95 after the Thorpe-Drexler trade? If we could win that year, Kenny Thomas could start for a championship team. Being weak in one position doesn't doom a team. All the same, though, I'd rather have a somewhat better PF. Ideally, I'd want our first option to be the PF, but we'll have to take what we can get, and if we can do no better than Thomas, that's alright; we can work around it. He'll probably be better than Chucky Brown was (no offense ChuckyBrownFanClub -- Chucky played admirably for us, especially in forcing Barkley into that 0-10 game in the playoffs. He wwas really something when we were clicking on all cylinders that post-season, but I think Thomas will be better.).

The Reason Barkley was forced into the o-10 game is more because Hakeem was waiting on the weak side to help out more than it was Chucky Brown's shining Moment. Back then Hakeem made up for the Team's deficiencies on his own. That being said, we need a premier frontcourt player or at least a great defender-rebounder ( Ratliff ). It would take some pressure off the PG/SG/SF scoring trio. A streaky frontcourt with minimal defense won't work. If we can emulate some of what Philadelphia has done, that may be a step in the right direction if we can't get a Duncan, Webber, Grant

KT can play like that consistently, he just needs to have a play called for him more often.

He, like most players gets more motivated when they are part of the plan.

    KT ABSOLUTELY can do it.

If I'm remembering right, I think Horry was our PF in that time. At least he was against Orlando. I'd assume Elie then was SF, Drexler SG, and the Smith/Cassell PG.

Yes...it was Horry who started that game and held Barkley. Charles couldn't get started that game and kept taking ill advised shots over someone that was six inches taller than he was.

If the Rockets had drafted right...and made the right trades they could have had Jordan, Hakeem, and Drexler on the same team...the whole time...REALLY!! Then I woke up to reality.
