I've had two civics. One had 2 transmissions and the other is on it's fourth. At one point I waited 7 weeks for the transmission to come off of back order. I had to call honda corporate to get a rental car after harassing them. My Ram has no problems but my type-s TL just had another transmission.
I had a 92 accord lx back in the day with 100k on it before the tranny blew out. The motor was strong but things began to fell apart. Now I drive an 06 EX and love it.
My uncle used to be a service manager at a Acura dealership and he said he would never buy one of their new cars or SUV's. They all have serious tranny problems and it seems the more expensive the car is the more problems it has.
i would've gave up after the 1rst transmission (unless it's under warranty). were they all automatics?
Very true. My folks have a 91 Accord that is still running smooth today. I have a 2000 Accord V6 Coupe and the transmission just went out a few weeks ago. Dumb thing is that due to a class action law suit, they extended the warranty to 7 yrs 9 months, but my car was just at 8 years. Fortunately, Honda did help me out some with a discount but it still cost $1,600.
