I had a thread a while back asking about if NBA 2k would work on my laptop, seeing as my specs did not reach the minimum requirements. But, I installed it anyway and it does work with really low settings and with no sound. Here is the thing... my friend also installed the game but he can play the game better and with sound. His and my laptop barely differ, or so I think. The difference is, (which may be a big factor), is that his laptop has 2 gigs of ram and mines only has one. Now I am thinking... if I upgrade my laptop's ram up to 3 gigs, will I be able to play the game better? I am hesitant to do this because it may also have to do with the video card (at first I thought we both had the same kind or mines was better because my laptop was more expensive...) My video card: 384 MB NVIDIA GeForce 8400M G TurboCache His: NVIDIA® GeForce® 9100M G integrated 3D graphics with up to 7525 MB of Turbo Cache™ (256MB of dedicated video memory, up to 496 MB of shared system memory) Is his video card that much better that his laptop can play the game better than mine? Or is it the RAM that is causing the difference? Bottomline: Should I upgrade my RAM which may make NBA2k9 more playable or is RAM not the problem? Need a quick reply... Thank yoU!
So I looked on this site: http://www.notebookcheck.net/Mobile-Graphics-Cards-Benchmark-List.844.0.html his was #91 while mines was #101. So I just need clarification whether his video card is that much better or is it the +1 gig ram he has over my laptop that he is able to play NBA better than mines. Thanks...
