actually, if you are slower, you should dunk the ball more often. As dunking the ball, your hand will be protecting the ball, and you are closer to the rim, which minimized the space a defender can squeeze in between you and the rim to attempt to block your shot.

As i said earlier, it does not matter how high your defender jump, the rim is always 10" from the ground.

And if you are saying that he needs to get in shape to dunk the ball? Well for a professional player, he should get himself in shape. BTW, I seen him touching the rim, just by putting his hands straight up, are you telling me, a pro bballer cant jump 1-2 inch off the ground?

And guys, don't forget that he is an Asian. He's born to be weaker than Americans or Europeans in many aspects and he never has the physical quality that Dwight Howard or Shaq owns. He's always hard-working and doing his best to improve, and adapted to the team even the league. As a foreign player, Yao is excellent enough, at least he does better than many so-called gifted player, isn't he?

YAO did good job tonight even though he did not get nice stats!

yao only shoot 9 times , we can't expect he get hi-score
and he defended TD really well , duncan's stats may be a lil bit good-looking than yao ,but dun forget we win the game.

we had been never beat spurs with 100pts-up since 2001
especially,in 3rd quater,YAO worked so hard , GREAT defence and nice pass
give our 3pt shooters a lot of wide-opened chances

a center is not only a score machine but also can pass. yao is unique because shaq and howard can't do that like yao

yao, you are not soft, keep doing your great job , and bring us a trophy!!!

did what he had to do and what was needed last night...that's how i feel about his game last night.

    Stats misleading.

And if LHead is scoring like that the ball is obviously going somewhere else.

    Win is a win

2nd game of a back to back and it was in Denver. No Tracy or Shane. I'm hoping Yao is still recovering from his injury and isn't fully mobile. Games like this will happen and hopefully the old Yao will return later in the season. If not, the Rockets are in trouble.

I had very little hope they would win tonight with 3 players out.

Just lean into your shots big fella, they can't block it if they are getting crushed by 310 pounds of Chinese man power.

Is it a coincident that everytime when...

...Yao Ming come on the floor our ofense suddendly dissapear and we turn over the ball more often? YAO IS THE PROBLEM FOLKS. He does not fit this team's style we can run the ball with the second unit and score at will but when yao is in the game we slow down and turn the ball over.

Right now, it seems that Yao is not capable of having a big game without McGrady playing too. Not good.

    while two things happen,

    1. we start play yao-offense, trying to dump into yao, the other team fronts, shot clock down, we turn the ball over or force a bad shot.

or if we got yao the ball, other players don't move at all, yao go one on one, exhaust himself, getting owned

    2. we start play team-offense, dump the ball to yao, he finds cutters and open shooters, other move without teh ball, if can't dump to him, he sets screens for guards and we move the ball around to find open shooters or get layups.

The way I see it with Yao, is I respect his dedication and work ethic to his game but unfortunately to me he has to much downside. His interior defense is not the best, fouls alot. Teams started to force him to come out and defend as well. I still cannot believe he hasn't learn to stay near the rim to block shots like Mutombo. Im not expecting him to block like Mutombo but at least get the technique down. Im not expecting him to throw it down like Shaq but at least throw it down like Rik Smits lol.

I'm not sure about that, but it's safe to say Yao needs Tracy much more than Tracy needs Yao. I still think part of Yao's issue is health. Some games he looks like a complete statue, others he looks OK. There was one play tonight where the Nugs got 3 offensive rebounds because Yao couldn't move 2 inches in any direction to grab the ball. He looked helpless.

bushbush1988, I have saying that for 3 years. When the other team knows the Rockets are going to Yao, he doesn't do very well. Yao needs to get the ball in the flow of the offense. He's just too slow.

I know he is pretty slow and he won't be at full strength until maybe after the all star but those 3 rebound are in part fault by play zone defense, that the first since you give offensive rebounds because you can't block out and Yao at this point can't move quick enough to get the long jumpers.
