In my opinion, we are number two to be in the playoff. Then defeat whatever the opponent is and meet with the Lakers in the west conference. Then go on...
I hope our opponent of the first round will still be the hatred Utah j*zz. We are gonna revenge ourselves then. Privided the j*zz will break into the playoffs. This thread may cause some misunderstanding I'm afraid. our opponent is a single team then the tread starter may hint that we can't break into the seasond round still. But I'm sure he was not meaning that. the correct thread should be "a feeling about our potential opponents in the playoffs".
If so, we could take them. Although they'll be pretty good by the end of the season. Then again, so will we
Good catch. Yes opponents. Portland will be easier than Jazz in my opinion. They don't have much experience.
i say its wayy too early to feel who we're going to play, especially because the the majority of teams will be within a game or two of each other and the seedings may come down to the final games.
Just to be safe, I would want portland in the first round so at least we get out of the first round, 2nd round I hope we are up against the Jazz and we destroy them into bits of shred. Bastards. Great, now I feel like punching Derron Williams - this anger will be with me all day now, thanks a lot!
portland has been tremendous recently, esp. on the defensive end since oden has been back. but they're a young team and roy can be shut down if you just focus (though they do have a lot of shooters). i think we'll be pretty healthy by the all-star break and we should have a good gauge of what this team can do. and if we're still pretty healthy when the playoffs start, as long as we do play the lakers in the first round, i have a good feeling about our chances. though i hope we get the #2 seed. i think we'll either play portland, dallas, or denver. dallas looks like the easiest bet.
My favorite path would be the following: Dallas in the first round. I want revenge for that series (which they stole). Utah in the next round. I want revenge for those two series. By this time McGrady and Yao will be oozing confidence because theyve knocked out the teams which knocked them out. Lakers in the Western finals. We have to get this matchup because it's the only way to prove we are the best in the West, and after those earlier rounds, we will be in great shape. Then I want either Boston or Cleveland in the Finals. I want either the champions or Lebron (would love to match him up with Artest while Delonte West tries to guard T-Mac). I really hope we see all that. I've been wanting it since last season.
You do realize that there are 66 games left don't you? Why not start a thread about what pick number we will have in the draft?
If McGrady recovers completely and quickly to full health and can maintain himself consistently we should make it to the playoffs, otherwise it will be doubtful if we can go that far IMO.
It's really tough to make predictions at this point. The only thing that seems set is the Lakers will have the top seed. After that, there's no clear number 2. I think 4/5 is probably the most likely seeding for us, again. Which means we'll likely play the winner of the Northwest division. I'll go with Utah, again.
