JVG is right... he usually is. He's not the type of person that'll sugar coat his words. He's a brilliant basketball mind and I definitely agree with him. Just because Adleman doesn't truly know how to use Mcgrady and Yao it doesn't mean these guys just flat out suck now. If Adleman can't figure out a way to make the situation work either we let Adleman go or we need start trading and get players that can make the situation work. It's just one or the other. My opinion though is that we have some great talent on our team and there is no reason why we aren't one of the best teams if not the best team in the league right now. Sure we are going to give it time and see how things work out but I definitely think our three superstar players would agree this year is the year to win it all... with or without adleman.

So who are you dropping below TMac, Kobe or Wade?

I think TMac has the skill set to be a tier below those guys, but until he is fully healthy we won't know exactly how good he can be.

    1) Wade
    2) Kobe
    3) Vince Carter
    4) Ginobili
    5) Joe Johnson
    6) Brandon Roy
    7) Tracy McGrady

If you put swingmen like McGrady in there, he's out the top 10. Yikes.

"If/When healthy", if VC keeps at 48% shooting for the year and 40% 3's (doubtful), McGrady's at most at #4 with Ginobili. He could be 2nd best small forward behind Lebron, but Danny Granger's making his case and Paul Pierce is probably just steadier and better at this point.

i kinda like people thinking tmac's on the decline. teams arent double teaming him anymore. he gets wide open threes and when they play him one on one, he gets by them to get to the rim.

i wish when tmac's already healthy, he can pretend that he's still not, especially in the playoffs. then he can blow up on all of them.

I don't think ANYONE questions his talent, but its his heart and determination that leave big question marks.

It would be hard for him to do so when he's among the greatest playoff performers of all time(by the numbers). He'll just **** all over them as usual.

Kinda hard for him to make that statement since T-Mac hasn't been a top 3 SG in 3 years now.

JVG got through to Tmac better than any coach in the NBA, too bad his faults caused him to fail in the playoffs.

If he could only make adjustments.

JVG is sooooo funney! Last night when the Lakers and Mavs were playing he saw Vlad and said, "Did you see Radmanovic glasses. He can wear them to the beach too!"

I was cracking up lol hahaha

Hold on now. JVG is the first person to sugar coat words when it comes to the Rockets. He's infatuated with them. Anyone remember last year 'Tracy's the best passer in the league?'
I like me some rockets too but Jeff's clearly a homer.

The next time JVG criticizes TMac will be the FIRST time he does it.

I always wondered why this was the case. I've seen him criticize others on the Rockets (Yao, rafer,etc.). You would think a defensive/hustle minded coach like JVG would criticize Tracy more than anyone else.

TMac has been coddled his whole life, he is so sensitive he might break if he was criticized.

Truthfully, he needs some Vince Young type of tough love....a coach to stand up to him....

To me, no one accounts for his teams success from the wing more than Tracy and James.

Case and point: Bynum goes out and the team starts to lose and the gm is afraid of missing the playoffs. They get Gasol, starts rolling again until he goes down. Now Kobe is suppose to be the best player in the league, yet can stay .500 without bynum or gasol.

Example 2. The last run in miami, the team was struggling and below .500 when shaq was out. Shaq comes back, wade goes down and the team plays .600 ball. Now we're talking about a suppsed over the hil yet the tea played better without the "young superstar."

Which brings me to Tracy. The team had a pf combination of hayes and howard and a backup of deke and padgett along with rafer, battier, and luther head. leading scorer and rebounder goes down for 30 games and the team plays .630 ball. Fast forward a year later and the center goes down again and with 3 rookies playing minutes, the team plays .700 ball. Show me another player in the league other than Duncan,James, and maybe Nash that controls their teams success more than McGrady. Now people don't lke that, but that's just the way it is.

wrong again...tmac needs to play well...how has he played well? he has played well when his coach has shown the ultimate confidence in him. who knows how critical any coach is behind closed doors. if jvg had criticized him publicly, then you guys would kill him like you killed him for making fun of vspan. its not tough love that we need, we need tmac to play well like he has in the past. our failures in the playoffs have to be shared by all, but he played great in the playoffs, we just didnt have enough around him to close the deal.

You are confusing 2 issues. Everyone agrees we need TMac to play well, but the point is how to motivate him to do so.

I agree he has excelled when shown ultimate confidence, but that helped create a prima donna who is great as a front runner, but has failed consistently under pressure in the playoffs.

Sometimes it is his teamates, sometimes the coach, sometimes him.....but Tmac could be a LOT tougher, he has been coddled his whole life.....and it has created a wonderfully gifted player who is softer than Jon Koncak's right butt cheek.
