Right on point, when he goes to the "I'm going to take it on a game by game basis" it has to frustrate the coaching staff!(And us!!) How can you even game plan? It'll be a guessing game for the rest of the season, and of course if he strings a few DNP's what kind of timing, game shape issues will we be dealing with then? Blinebury hit it dead on this time,as hard as it is for me to believe he's absolutely right.
LOL you guys are over-reacting. Tmac sat down for one game against the PACERS. The Pacers! We don't need Tmac against the Pacers, we need him against the Spurs, Lakers and the other contending teams. And the schedule was such that if he sat that game out, he would have 3 days of rest before the next one. If we had won that game (and we really should have), then we wouldn't even be having this thread and everbody would be waiting for Tmac to come back next game
Fran may not have wrote the article but I would still feel the same way Sit down . . . or suit up . . . thie game by game crap isn;t cool T-Mac has had Selective playing days alot . . . Rocket River
stupid article. memo to tmac for wat? stop getting hurt? how bout ron finds his way in the offense? or rafer making some open shots? or yao dominating like he should? stfu, over reacting like a b****. tmacs playin hurt and you expect him to put up lebron numbers? of corse your defense is gonna suck when you dont have your knees. the team isnt complete yet. still no excuse for the indy game, yao SHOULD HAVE STEPPED UP, or maybe ron. sholudnt rely on tmac that much. november is always a tought if not the toughest month for houston. dont need to have an outstanding record in november and even december, just keep the team above 500. janurary is when the nba sesason begins, games on abc, teams start clicking, other teams start falling. tmac aint doing anything wrong. hes day to day cuz he prolly wont need a whole week off, specially when we play the spurs the nthe nugs. maybe if we played indy then charlotte tmac would sit out for a week.
Among all these reporters, writers and bloggers, Fran Blinebury is the ONLY one who dares to speak out what is the real problem with the Rockets franchise.
Exactly. Year after year of overachieving in the regular season only to be booted from the playoffs in the first round ought say everything about the guys leading the team. Tracy and Yao will not produce a championship. The hunger just isn't there. The Rockets should have been blown it up last summer.
We really need to do something about the pollution in this city, it's obviously starting to mess with people's heads.
One day he says I'm hurt and the next day he says he needs more touches. What is it with this guy. LOL.
Management needs to tell him that his game-to-game strategy is not an option. Just sit him and don't allow this impasse on McGrady's knee to string the team. Just give McGrady what he wants. This is the consequence of forcing a player that sulks into doing something he does not agree with. How is the team going to get any consistency like this? I blame management because after four years they should have already know McGrady's flaws and how he reacts to adversity.
Fran is usually right on the money....people never like it when you are blunt....but Tmac is what he is......he is the officer you shoot in the back to make sure the rest of the troops live. DD
How soon do we forget? If you think that the problem the last few years has been that Yao has been held back by T-Mac, you have it all wrong. First, Yao has been a secondary option to Tmac until the last 2 years Second, who went down last year when Tmac was draggin his gimpy leg to help string together 22 straight victories? You're making it sound like poor Yao is being held back by Tmac. Even this year, Yao is our best player, but he's not performing like an All-Star every night. Against Dallas in 05, Yao was second fiddle to Tmac Against Utah in 07, they both underperformed Against Utah in 08, Yao was hurt I think Tmac has done in Houston what he was brought to do. He had one legitimate chance to advance in 2007 and he didn't do it. Now he's just past his prime and expectations should be held in check. There is only one champion every year. Houston has been a top 5 team in the NBA the last 3 years. Some of you need to check your expectations. What would you do if the Rockets were like Oklahoma City? Instead of looking at T-mac hasn't done, sometimes you should look at what he HAS done.
True, there is one champion each year but how many rounds in the playoffs? How many have the Rockets won with Tracy and Yao at the helm? Being a top 5 team doesn't hold much water with the playoff record the Rockets have. The fans attending the games apparently think they are looking at Oklahoma City and not a championship-caliber team.
