Yao is a star player, but not a superstar player.... His limitations will stop him from ever being an all-time great. He is still a wonderful player and a great teamate. 23 -10 is nothing to sneeze at. DD
ok he beats rik on rebounding and blocking, im proud of it LOL. rik was not 1st option in pacers and yao was; no one would think rik is one of the BEST centers in the league while yao supposed to be; this team build on yao and everyone has to pass the ball to yao during JVG's time. Now think about it, their stats are still comparable and yao is really much better than rik? btw shawn bradly got better blocking skillz than yao lol. ye rules changed, so what? you think yao can play 20/10 games against dream, young shaq, young TD, Malone the Elbow, ewing the monkey arms, robinson and other leet big mans in 90s? ROFL. well, you are not the only one who believes yao is the BEST player we have tell you what, if yao is the best player we have, we are ****ed. dont even talk about the champion,maybe we can make the playoffs but no doubt another 1st rd out. thats the situation of this team. why people think we are one of the contenders? because tmac supposed to be the SUPERSTAR and RON was imba king of queens. yes i gotta say they suck recently but yao ming the "tofu" is a bordline all star lvl player, when you rely on him to win the games, time to rebuild...
23 and 10 is something yao might average a few years ago (his best was 25 and 10 and that was one year). now 19-9 is probably the case but that is still very good. and pewpew, yao > smits. let's just stop.

We just have 13 seconds to finish the last attack. I am pretty sure Yao did not know how many seconds left when Yao got the ball. That's why Yao's last attack being done in a rush.
What is the point of this thread exactly? I think anyone who has watched the Rocks already knows that a player with length and quickness can take Yao out of his game unless the Rocks focus on getting Yao the ball deep in the paint. The BIG problem to me with this last game is that Yao got a pass to him with a point blank shot to win the game and couldn't finish the play. When your 7 footer is standing next to the basket and can't finish to WIN a ballgame then that's just ridiculous. He has to finish or get fouled in that situation. There's no excuse for what happened there. That was just weak ass bullcrap right there and it cost us a win.
13 seconds is an eternity for a possession my friend. i'm sure when he saw what adelman drew up, he knows what will happen and these guys usually run the play through their minds as they go back onto the court. that last shot really exemplifies yao mentality. there were no 7 footers on that last shot that would really intimidate him. instead, he did a mini-pump fake and then went up for a soft shot. therefore, it wasn't a "rush" shot b/c he did several moves before throwing that last shot up. he could EASILY dunk all of those guys if he put his mind to it (and if they did something to stop his dunk, it would be a foul). instead he ignored all contact. we've gone through this with yao EVERY year about his aggressiveness and lack of willingness to dunk. we just have to learn to accept it. why do you thikn we have a "yao's dunk appreciation thread" every time he dunks? it happens once every 2-3 games. we just have to accept this, among his other, weaknesses and move on. he has a lot of great strengths. we just need to utilize those strengths and minimize his weaknesses.
tracy is not either. and that's the problem. we have 2 stars who are very mentally weak. however, tracy's mental weakness is usually associated with his health. if he "thinks" he's healthy, tracy will tear it up and play very aggressive and is as good as anybody. if he doesn't, he'll look like a passive player that really "settles," and that frustrates a lot of rocket fans. however, yao came back from a great 3 game road trip, where his confidence should be really high. instead, he stunk it up mentally. that last shot exemplifies yao to the fullest. so we have 2 guys who tend to be really "soft." one is soft b/c his swagger is not there b/c he thinks he's not "healthy" enough (tracy). one is soft b/c he is just not aggressive enough (yao).
ABSOLUTELY . . . how about the time you see a 7-6' guy try to take a charge. Someone needs to tell the wimp that he's a big guy and should have blocked that shot. We would settle if he got a foul . . . that's when the other team thinks twice about going into the paint!!!!!!!!!
ron is just not that good of an offensive player in my opinion. i don't know what he did last yr in sacto that caused him to average 20 pts on 45% shooting (probably playing with no pressure b/c your team sucks and playing at a fast pace). from what i have seen from artest this year offensively, he cannot be a 2nd or even a 3rd option (3rd option has to be scola). dude is TERRIBLE offensively when he has to do things off the dribble or make plays. he's at his best this year when he SPOTS UP. we gotta run more plays for scola b/c i cannot stand another game where artest sucks it up. how the hell do you shoot just as bad as rafer? how do you do that?
Well, I can't agree with that. So far he hasn't looked good on post ups. His finishing around the basket is HORRIBLE, even his strength doesn't help. He can't get by his defender, even if it is Jack. He's had some REAL problems inside. Tracy is much better on the post.

not rly, this season only heats did double yao alot since they dont have a guy taller than tmac even. just front yao, and hes ****ed. i mean yao's weakness become even worse in this season, hes slower than ever. remember that rik can get 18/7 when he got 30mins game while yao was about the same stats 18/8 in 30mins game. yao got 20/10 games only because he plays more mins than rik smitz and 35mins game for 7'6 means injury-prone. of course im not saying rik smitz beats yao, but obviously they are same lvl players as similar height.
Do you really watch rockets game? Last game, TJ Ford have some 3 seconds violations to prepare to double Yao but refs ignored. Of course Yao can not do everthing perfectly. Just be fair, do not keep saying something what you do not know or not sure.
Shark said he's the special case in this league and Yao too in several days ago. In your opnion, Rik is the special case too.Right? I believe every coach will set some strategys for defensing Yao because they know Yao's importance to the game. If yao get the defense like rik did, I can not imagine what stats yao will have.
