Car commercials where someone "gives" a car as a gift...

I always wondered if the dealerships could really put that big red bow on the car.

 

And do you tell them it's preowned or let them figure it out?

 

I have seen it done

 

if you took out a loan to buy the car as a gift, expect to be responsible for the payments, even if you have talked to the recipient about making the monthly payments. that loan was taken out in your name. if the recipient defaults, that's on you.

 

Last year I psyched myself up and thought I was going to buy a car around Christmas time. I totally wanted one of those bows, and I was prepared to make it a point in my bargaining with the dealership.


Unfortunately, I couldn't afford the car until February. Never got the bow.

 

Yeah they do, or some. On the show super sweet 16 with the spoiled white kids...they all got lexues, bimmers, and benzes with bows on them

 

You could have waited 10 months.

 

I know I know... I'm just too impulsive!

 

I always thought those commercials were a husband giving it to a wife?

I, too, thought this was about the giant red bows.

 

Those commercials throw me off also. Either you've got a slush fund you didn't tell me about, there'll be a $30,000 hole in our bank statement, or you just put us deeper in debt without consulting me.

 

Those commercials are Lexus commercials, right?

All of them show the people having nice houses, so it's not like they are targeting a wide audience.

 

These people don't need to be SAVED BY ZERO.

 

I did this for my wife 2 Christmases ago. Didn't go with the bow though. It costs extra - something like 300-400 dollars. But it was a Lexus just like the commercials. What can I say? Commercials get to me. I also have a George Foreman Grill and also bottles of spray on hair.

 

300-400 for a bow?? you got to be fuking kidding me. with 300-400$ i could buy a thousand boxes of condoms,use them, than tie them up and make my own bow. .
