I do. Oh, boo freakin hoo, we lost to the pacers. We've lost to worse teams, and teams in history better than the lakers have lost to worse teams too. Quit crying like babies every time we lose a game.

The Lakers have some serious cryptonite. I was watching their game against Dallas and have been following them all yr. You can beat the Lakers if you can:

-PLay Gasol and Bynum straight up
-Run on them, they dont get back on D alot in transition
-Double team Kobe in the post
    -Be very physical with them
-Make the extra pass, they love to gamble for steals
-attack and not settle for J's

The problem is though, none of these things the Rockets can do. Yao has been struggling defensively maybe moreso than any other year that I can remember. Scola or Landry checking Gasol??? Us a running team? What are we, last in the NBA in fast break points !!!! We are a soft team ourselves, so we really can't be physical. And our offense is SOOOO easy to stop, and with the way Ariza and Kobe reak havoc, it could get ugly. And finally, if we had a lead against the Lakers, it would mean nothing because we are maybe the worst team at protecting leads, and the Lakers are the best team at coming back from a big lead.

Yeah that's sort of the issue here. I do think we can win some games if we have our entire roster completely healthy.

The issue is though we can match them blow for blow at each position IF our entire team is ready to go, Phil Jackson and a motivated Kobe ultimately is the deciding factor in a seven game series. I don't know if we could pull it out then cause they're just too talented.

    3 things need to happen

    -playoff version of T-Mac
-some length to backup Yao(preferably Deke)
-Luther Head must not be on the playoff roster

If the Rockets can slow the Lakers down in half-court set and shoot better, they still can beat the Lakers.

If Morey gets more sizes for the Rockets' frontline, they will match up better with the Lakers.

I think we have a shot. LA is one of those teams where we can go small and play Artest, Battier and Tmac at the 2-3-4. Artest is tough enough to keep Gasol from backing him down IMO. Battier will guard Kobe. They don't really have that going for them. Bynum is ok, but not first team defense quality. Kobe is going to want to play offense so you can't have him playing Kobe-defense all game.

Obviously we have a ways to go before we get to the point where we can beat the Lakers in 7 games. Like... winning a playoff series.

i believe right now , hell no. But, maybe if the team is healthy, which include sf3 and tmac get to 100%. Also for tmac and sf3 to be play like 80% during their prime and Yao to turn it up against paul. Have shane hit those 3s in the corner. Also to keep kobe under 22 a game with shane and ron ron guarding him. And get a shot blocker and red center to back up yao.

nah no chance. lakers are out of this world right now, their record doesnt lie. their offensive power has increased from last year due to no injuries to the team, and they have step up defensively (their weakness before). the only thing that can stop them is injuries.

Too early to tell. By looking at how they have performed, Rockets are miles behind lakers.

We can come to conclusion once McGrady returns to the lineup.

However, one thing I will say though is that it will be damn interesting to watch. If the series does go down, it will probably one of the most entertaining playoffs series in the past few years.

The boston celtics vs Lakers series didn't live up to it's hype imo. It just didn't have the spark.

Unless Morey signs another 7 footer, probably not but I'd like to believe.
