agreed. rudy would not have developed as much on houston as he did on memphis. he would have gotten 20 minutes a game and would have been the third option at best. JVG def would not have allowed him to take shots at will and that would in turn cause rudy gay to be as good as tmac was on toronto. plus rudy gay cant guard kobe like shane can! and with artest and tmac, id rather have battier for the next two years, cause defense wins championships. artest would be worn out trying to guard kobe in a series, and you know tmac cant!

Well, in his defense, it was made way back in June.

And I'm glad this trade was made. Battier>Gay. That's my deep thought on this.

w/o battier, we wouldnt have anyone to guard the opposing teams best defender. Dont you guys miss Shane being out there? Every game I watched so far this season, I'm thinking "man, I want shane back." Rudy Gay is good, but shane fits perfectly with the Rockets.

Well now with T-Mac out of indefinite amount of time, just like every season for the past few years, I'm sure Rudy is can make a much bigger contribution than Shane!

Oh and for those who said Rudy can't get enough touches in our team compared to him being in the Grizzlies, why not just let him DNP and develop like Bynum...no Laker is b****ing about Bynum not contributing in his rookie year...

we didn't exactly win anything with Battier...and we would win a lot more with Rudy instead of Shane on board this year and every upcoming year...afterall Shane hasn't done ANYTHING so far...

to those who think Rudy won't be played by JVG...so you saying he'll play Luther Head/Chuck Hayes loads of minutes but not Rudy?!

Rudy is what exactly this team needed and still needs! Offensive Firepower and Great Rebounding!

It wasn't going to be Rudy Gay...The trade stopped us from making yet another bad draft per Caroll Dawson...

Is there any evidence that we were never interested in Gay?

Anyhow, its worse to DRAFT a star player and TRADE him away than PASSING up on a star.

Still we did DRAFT Rudy Gay right? And we traded him away AFTER drafting him right?

It would've been nice to have Rudy Gay in there at the end tonight - especially since he's a clutch player who takes and makes big shots.

It really doesn't matter because we are the better team, and have been since the trade went down. I think battier coming to Houston is a good thing, you have a guy with as much class as he does, and it starts to rub off on the other rockets.
