Smith was stopped at airport last month

MINNEAPOLIS -- Vikings running back Onterrio Smith, who has a history of violating the NFL's substance-abuse policy, was briefly detained by airport police last month after they found an elaborate kit used to beat drug tests.

Police at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport questioned Smith on April 21 after a search of his bag discovered vials of white powder, according to a police report.

Smith told officers it was dried urine used in conjunction with a device called "The Original Whizzinator." The officer who filed the report wrote that Smith "told me that it was dried urine for making a clean urine test." In addition, he had a bottle of pills labeled "cleansing formula."

Smith told police he was taking the vials to his cousin. The police report didn't say where Smith was traveling. The Star Tribune first reported the story Wednesday.

"We will continue to monitor the situation as we would with any other and evaluate it from there," coach Mike Tice said in a statement Wednesday.

Smith's agent, Douglas Hendrickson, didn't immediately return a message left at his office.

NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said league rules state that failing to cooperate with a drug test was the same as failing it.

"The possession of paraphernalia to circumvent a drug test away from the drug testing site is not a violation of the substance abuse policy, but possession of such paraphernalia is something that will be investigated and action will be taken if appropriate," Aiello said.

"A player who is in the program is subject to up to 10 random tests a month for a two year basis. There is visual observation for all tests in which the shirt is taken up and the pants are pulled down below the knees."

Smith was suspended last season for four games after testing positive for mar1juana. It was his second "strike" in the NFL's substance-abuse program. He would earn a yearlong suspension for a third violation.

The report filed April 26 says a tube of toothpaste set off an alarm as a bag Smith was carrying was being scanned. Six or seven vials of white powder were discovered in the bag. Smith was detained, questioned and allowed to leave, the report said.

In 2000, Smith was kicked out of Tennessee for using mar1juana. He finished his college career at Oregon. Smith rushed for 579 yards as a rookie and led the Vikings last season with 544 yards.

You know that you are a loser if you get kicked off the University of Tennessee's football team. There is a reason why so many players like playing for Fat Phil Fulmer - he lets them do whatever the hell they want (well except for Onterrio and this Schaeffer kid who like beat up some guy in his dorm room).

It's really pathetic that people buy these things and go to such lengths... is it really worth it?

And it even comes with a prosthetic... organ? Does it fit over the original one, or do you just try to hide it, or what? That is just really sad...

Lawmakers object to fake penis for drug tests

Wed May 11, 5:49 PM ET

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A life-like prosthetic penis called the Whizzinator and other products promising to help illegal drug users pass urine tests provoked U.S. lawmakers on Wednesday to take legal action with subpoenas of manufacturers.

Lawmakers objected to attempts to circumvent drug tests with products such as The Whizzinator, a fake penis that can provide a flow of clean urine "again and again, anytime, anywhere you need it!" according to the Web site www.whizzinator.com.

A congressional subcommittee voted to subpoena the owner of Puck Technology of Signal Hill, California, the company that makes the Whizzinator. The panel also voted to subpoena the owners of Health Choice of New York City and Spectrum Labs of Cincinnati, two companies that lawmakers said also were suspected of selling products aimed at circumventing workplace drug tests.

The owners were required to provide financial and operational records by Monday and to appear at a congressional hearing on Tuesday.

"These companies seek through deception to make a buck by violating our trust and compromising our security," said Rep. Ed Whitfield, a Kentucky Republican who chairs the House Energy and Commerce Committee's oversight and investigations panel.

"It is a risk we simply cannot tolerate. This panel will uncover how widespread these products are and recommend the necessary steps to end their use," Whitfield said in a statement.

Actor Tom Sizemore, who played a sergeant in the war movie "Saving Private Ryan," was caught using the Whizzinator to try and pass drug tests, California prosecutors said in February. He was put in jail after using a similar device and failing a drug test, prosecutors said.

    DRINKS TO FLUSH DRUGS

The House committee is investigating whether federal legislation is needed to stop companies from making similar products, such as drinks that promise to flush out drug ingredients in urine.

The company officials had previously declined to testify and provided little information, a committee statement said.

Michael Fichera, owner of Health Choice, said he had told the committee he would cooperate with the investigation.

"I don't think there's anything wrong with the products we're selling," Fichera said in an interview. "We do a service. I think it's way more positive than negative."

He said users of his company's products, which include drinks and capsules, must be "clean" for two to three days before using them to pass a drug test.

"We're not beating or cheating on drug tests. We are just accelerating the cleansing time," Fichera said.

An official at Spectrum Labs did not immediately respond to a request for comment about the congressional action. A man who answered the phone at Puck Technology said no one was available to comment.

    A JUDGMENT!

2 guilty of selling prosthetic penis to cheat drug tests
    Associated Press

    Nov. 24, 2008, 6:28PM

PITTSBURGH — Two men whose company sold a device known as the Whizzinator that helped men cheat on drug tests have pleaded guilty in federal court in Pittsburgh.

George Wills and Robert Catalano each pleaded guilty Monday to two conspiracy counts. They owned the California-based Internet company Puck Technology.

The Whizzinator is a prosthetic penis that comes with a heating element and fake urine. U.S. Attorney Mary Beth Buchanan's office says the goal of it and another device called Number 1 was to help people pass drug tests.

The devices were sold from 2005 to 2008. The California men are scheduled to be sentenced in February and face up to eight years in prison, a half-million-dollar fine or both.

I wonder if he has ever tested positive for something besides mar1juana...

It seems like dude just loves to smoke bud. The mar1juana laws in this country are ridiculous but he needs to step back for a moment and realize that what he is doing is childish. The opportunity to build tremendous wealth playing a game should not be squandered because he wont give up the dank. Grow up. Play your 8-10 years (if your lucky), get on the pension plan and then you are free to get high the rest of your life.
