good to hear hopefully when shane gets back up to speed he can help the team out. i would still prefer shane starting with the first unit and ron coming off the bench. I think ron is better suited for that since he ball tends to stick in his hands a lot and that shouldnt be the case when yao and tracy are out there. But then again he hasnt played better moving the ball around recently. we'll see but its great to see shane back I am sure he wont log too many minutes tomorrow but we'll know he is back 100% when he takes his first charge of the season
I don't believe Shane should start right away. It will take him a few weeks I think to get into game shape. I would hate to wear him out by throwing him in the starting line up. Give him a couple of weeks. Try to get his timing back soon so that the Rockets can be ready come the last week of December. They play Cleveland, NO, and Utah in a three game set.
That's pretty much a given he's coming off the bench for awhile until he gets into game shape. I see maybe late December when Adelman tries him out in the starting lineup.
Exciting news. There should be no excuse for bad bench production with so many options to go to now. As an aside, anyone else have Shane on their fantasy team? I don't think he's nearly as valuable as represented by his owned%. If I weren't playing in a 20 team league, I would have cut him loose already. I'm thinking of trading him and Salmons for a better player. Salmons production should go down as Kevin Martin returns next month. Thoughts for a Clutchfan?
I think Adelman is really waiting on Battier to come back. He'll have his line up in order in which he wants to play. I think come late December, we'll see a 8 to 9 man rotation. I think Landry, Brooks, Artest, and Barry are going to be a great bench together. I wonder if Hayes is going to see much playing time? I could see him losing a lot of minutes come around that time.
It will be interesting to see Shane defend Ginobli this Friday. They both came back from injury. This is the best news recently. Who's next? SF3?
Nice to be getting Battier back. I personally like Ron Artest coming off the bench. The flow on offense among the starters will be better because there wont be three guys who are looking to get their own shots. That will address ball movement issues among the starting group. It will be better if they want to utilize Battier's corner three's. Something that Yao is doing on a more consistent basis this season is recognizing the double team and getting the ball out of the low block quicker...before the defense has a chance to strip him. Artest and McGrady have done a great job of penalizing the opposition for doubling Yao. Now, Battier will be the benefactor.
YESSS I hope his injuries healed well. Hope he doesn't take too long to get in game shape, we could use him right now.
Finally! Missed you Shane! Given how well the bench plays with Artest, I think its only a matter of time before battier displaces Artest in the starting lineup. This way, yao, scola, and T-Mac can score early, and the Rockets can wear opponents in the second quarter and the end of the third with their second unit. I hear the second unit calls themselves the goon squad. If that's true, it'd be more fitting with Artest on it... How many other teams can boast 10 quality rotation players? not many
Yeah Hayes will be important once the PF's are getting lit. Like Dirk..... What I find very interesting is that when I watch Hayes during shoot around when I'm at the games, he makes a lot of hook shots. But he can't seem to get that going down when he is playing in a real game.
I actually liked Battier's red blazer....made him look like an usher. I can't wait to have him back out there. I would have him over Rudy Gay any day.
