I agreed with the writer to some degree. Tmac is certainly no longer Tmac during his Orlando Magic days and early with the Rockets. He does seem like a old man watching him play sometime. But he is still a very good player compare to others in the league.

I wish McGrady from 05 but he plays good now. I mean he is injured badly and plays on one leg but in global better than I expected.

He will get into shape sooner or later but whats really important is the postseason, the playoffs.

Then everyone will have to step out and play the best out of them. Right now team needs to strenghten a little. Remember we were negative last year in this time?

A long time ago, I saw a wallpaper of McGrady and it said,

"The end of an era and celebration of a new one"

And I think it was referring to MJ's era and McGrady's coming.

This, too, also will be coming to an end. It's really, very sad for me because McGrady has been my favorite player. Time to jump on the LeBron bandwagon. Bye clutch!

:D , I kid. Hopefully, we can pull out a couple years of success before

McGrady's career or legacy coes to an end.

If this article does not fire up T-mac, I don't know what will?
Wait and see what will happen to the next game with the mavs.

Maybe? Maybe not? But just like Ron Artest said, that means nothing if they are winning :D

Everything I'm seeing from Tmac now just really reminds of the beginning of the 06-07 season when he came back from the back injuries. I remember he couldn't work out that offseason, and came back overweight and lacking in athleticism. I believe he averaged around 18 ppg in the month of Nov. on 40% shooting. He worked his way back into shape, had a good december, and was dominant in January in February after Yao went down.

I don't expect him to put up 25 ppg this season because of all the talent on this roster, but it wouldn't be bold to expect 22 ppg, or so. Barring future injuries, the Tmac we've had the last few years should be back. This talk of decline is pre mature. Of course he's different than he was in Orlando. He has been for 3 years now. But I'd still take the Tmac of the last couple seasons over most other stars. I fully expect that Tracy McGrady to return...just give it a little time.

    Dallas sux...

In other news, yes, after his surgery, he's not in top form, but I suspect he'll get there as the season progresses...Is he on the decline? Hard to say but if he was 100% healthy, then I'd say we could ask this question...

He's already now at the bottom of his career and he's still decreasing. Tmac is approching the hell, boy.
But he's still going on with his poor games and jumpers, ignoring the signs of his decline. When the air is still but he night has fallen, morey is gonna find how stupid he was to trade for tmac in 04. Morey had got a chance to get rid of tmac this summer when Riley asked the rockets to trade tmac for Marion and 2nd overall pick, but he rejected that trade which can benefit us a lot.

Baa...His health is NOT in decline. It's all in his head. The guy's head is mentally somewhere else.

tmac on the decline? everything is up percentage wise (ft/fg/3p). i like the new tmac that is playing system/team ball and winning games...we all know he's not 100% but he's playin smart.

he's on the decline b/c he's never healthy anymore. and he's no longer the athletic freak he once was.

but when he's "relatively" healthy, he's still a top 5-7 perimeter player in this league.

let's be real, carmelo anthony is shooting 39%. paul pierce is shooting 40%. and they're healthy.

tracy's gonna be fine. with the talent we have, we gotta be thankful this is happening earlier on. tracy can regain the strength while still playing within himself and not have to push it.

T-Mac needs to take most of his shots in the high/low post. The truth is he has lost a step. Not a big deal if he realizes that he has and takes the appropriate measures to compensate. One, catch and shoot and two, take most of his shots from the post.

When was the last time you remember T-Mac being in the zone, where for long stretches he seemed to be just toying with the defense, all by himself? Last time I remember that happening was near the beginning of the year that we had Stromile, when we played @ Seattle. I remember T-Mac being a threat to score almost as soon as he crossed half court for several possessions in a row, and there was nothing any of the Sonics could do about it. He was draining threes off the dribble in people's faces. So sweet, yet so long ago.

    Anyone else?

did you forget the suns game recently? dude was ON FIRE literaly in the 2nd half where he basically made everything and went 9-13 in the 2nd half.

right now, he's limited to jump shots. just wait when he's healthier. i really believe he can be so dangerous given the help he has right now.

But those were all spot up jumpers set up by someone else, most of them wide open. Lots of players can do that. In the game I'm talking about he was dropping threes one-on-one off the dribble, with people in his face.

I remember a game even earlier than that one (maybe 04-05? fuzzy memory) in New Jersey. He was also sticking pull up threes including ones on J Kidd and R. Jefferson, except the one on RJ was sick because it was a step back, since RJ's height probably called for a higher level ninja move to create more space (no such move needed to shoot over J Kidd). That's the T-Mac I'm talking about that is long gone. Eventually the Nets just said F-it and started double team trapping T-Mac as soon as he crossed half court. But anyway the last time I remember him having that kind of swagger was in the SEA game early in the 05-06 season of tragedy.

Just looked it up, turns out that game in NJ was also in 05-06 aka the lost season, before the game in SEA.

Just went back and dug up the vids of those games (thanks to R2K once again!). It wasn't J Kidd, it was Jeff McInnis that T-Mac was shooting over on a couple of those 3 jacks. And that step back on RJ was a thing of beauty. Actually T-Mac's whole 2nd half performance in that NJ game was a thing of beauty. So so sad to think about it now.
