Did something happen between those two?? I remember with like 5 minutes left in the fourth quarter something happened like Washington missed a shot, then somehow got an offensive rebound. So, when the Tracy was bringing the ball up court, he was basically yelling at Landry the whole time. Then, when they crossed half court, McGrady basically stood there talking to Landry for 3 or 4 seconds, at which point Bill and Bullard said something to the extent of "what is Carl Landry doing standing way out there behind the 3 point line?". After all this happened, I saw that Landry was furiously going after every rebound. He got a good 5 or 6 rebounds after that, and 2 or 3 of those were offensive boards. It doesn't really matter, but I was just curious if anyone knew what went down, if anything at all...
I didn't notice that, but I was watching FastBreak on ESPN tonight and they should a clip of Artest and Rafer getting in a little (acouple of seconds) argument after some play. Rafer was on the left wing (in front of Rockets bench) and Artest was on the right side of the 3pt arc trying to get Yao the ball. They ended up calling a timeout and Rafer starting yelling at Artest. Then after the time out, T-Mac was just talking to Artest, but it seemed like he was telling him to just forget about it or something. Hopefully Rafer's passion (which I like) doesn't end up causing lockerroom problems for our team. Artest had been on very good behavior and hasn't complained about anything (including FG attempts) so lets keep the peace.
Lol, so bad news led to good news? I think McGrady was just telling Landry to get into position, Landry was probably standing around and not getting into the post. Since like you said Landry grabbed a few rebounds after that. The team chemistry is still building, and the Rockets Management are doing a fine job at it.
Rafer stopped movement though after Artest got a hold of the ball. Then Artest yelled across the way and called TO. In which they both exchanged words, it wasnt Rafer yelling at Artest it was both exchanging words....not lightly.
Thats probably what it was. Adelman was saying that Landry not being in position allowed some dribble penetration in the Dallas game.
as much as people say tracy's not a leader, he does lead "at times" (though not quite enough). guys do respond to him. yao, landry, alston, and def. scola. he yells at scola and landry quite often and they always seem to respond. i remember last yr tmac yelled at scola quite often in his rookie year and scola really progressed as the season wore on and became more aggressive. as much criticism as tracy gets, the team does respond to him and they do fight with and for him. just gotta stay healthy. ps - i also notice so far this season that artest seems to interact the most with tracy. they always huddle together a lot by themselves in parts of the game and talk. they're both happy when the other does well. seems neat.
The on court chemistry is not quite there, but off court, or at least while not playing, it seems to be pretty strong. It's good that T-Mac is out there yelling. Not in a mean way, but in a constructive way. If Landy and Scola and Brooks can take something from that, then it's all worth it. The best thing we can do when our big 3 is on the court together: Yao in the post, T-Mac to one side, Artest to the other. Landry/Hayes/Scola creeping for the rebound Barry/Alston/Brooks/Battier camped out for the 3 ball. I'm glad T-Mac is talking. It seems like he gets a little more animated about plays this season than he used to. Like how Clutch pointed out on Yao's dunk against the Wiz, and also when Barry got called for traveling he was up off the bench, etc. Passion!
it's good. i don't think it'll cause any rifts in the locker room. and once we get deke everything is going to get even better. doesn't hurt to have too many veterans on a team giving advice to the newbies. i think artest and tmac realize that at their later stages of their careers, winning a championship is the numero uno priority. i'm glad to see that they're taking winning so seriously; everybody is being held accountable which is a sign of a great team. and i'm predicting that once battier comes back, he and artest are going to be communicating a lot on the defensive end. and *knock on wood* we'll be seeing amazing defensive possessions. straight up lockdown.

I still want to see the Yao Artest Battier McGrady lineup once Battier is healthy. Combine those 4 with Brooks and I can't help but feel we will be very difficult to stop.
apparently, tracy has a lot of influence on ron “Playing against Tracy, I know he’s patient,” Artest said. “He is a pass-first guy when the defense is keyed in on him. I’ve got to get used to playing with him. (Friday) I saw, instead of me taking that first shot, I can give it to him. I know he is more than capable of making big shots. I tried to sacrifice a little bit more. “I would say, ‘Tracy, what do I have to do?’ ” Artest said. “ ‘Do I have to step it up, or do I have to wait?’ If he’s all right, he says, ‘Ron, I got it.’ And if he’s not, he says, ‘Ron, I need you to step it up.’ I say, ‘OK,’ and I take the shots. (On Saturday) he was half-and-half. He said, ‘Ron, step it up.’ I said, ‘Thank you. I don’t mind at all.’ I hit a couple of shots. Then he came back in the game, and he was ready. “A couple times, I watched on tape, and I saw some shots I shot when Mac was wide open. I was like, ‘Wow, he was wide open.’ Sometimes I’ve been wide open. I’ve been moving the ball a little bit quicker because the defense is firing out at everybody. The same way Mac makes us better as a team, we have to make him better, too.” http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/sports/bk/bkn/6128945.html
