    You must be crazy.
Landry and Scola aren't good at all at defense. With so many good power fowards in the league, we need Chuck.

No way we trade Hayes, this guy is so underappreciated its not even funny!! You can see Chuck teaching guys like Landry from the bench, he is too valuable to this team. You wont get another guy from free agency thatll give you what he brings.
Hustle, Defence, high bball IQ, rebounding.

landry is certainly not 6'6", he's probably around 6'8" as listed. his height is not the problem. his short arms and relatively low standing reach are. i've already said that last year. it's one of the reasons why he's one of the most blocked players in the nba.

hayes on the other hand seems to be around 6'6" with shoes on. no reason to trade him, though. which reminds me to give this thread 1 star.

Those guys always give us problems. Out of everyone you named no one can shut them down. I missed the N.O game so i dont know what he did against David West but he only stopped Dirk. LaMarcus and Amare always seem to get the best of him

I used to completely agree, but it's more then a rarity these days to have a guy with no ego who does all of the things that Chuck Hayes does. He may be a liability on offense, but we have enough offensive oriented people for me to love what Chuck brings to the table. He's Barkley without the O and that's huge for a team like ours. The bigger problem will be in getting minutes for all of our 4's when Deke is back and playing the 5.

I don't even Think Deke is coming back. Morey keeps saying we will sign him when we have room yet we don't even have 15 players on the roster so whats the hold up. We had him last year and he didn't even see the court til Yao went out for the season so whats so different now.

I don't want to get rid of Hayes until Joey Dorsey learns how to play defense lke him.

for all we know he probably can play defense even better but coach won't play him. For what reason we don't know. There were plenty of times Dorsey could have seen action so far but is glued 2 the bench :(

Have you seen any of those games. Dirk and Aldridge were giving us 2 new holes in the first 3 qtrs. In the 4th qtr Adelman put Hayes on them and they weren't heard from since.

Against Phoenix Hayes had the bulk of his minutes against Amare, the result.... 11pts.

David West finished the game with 18pts. 7 of them(including a 3) in the final minute when the game was over long ago.

So whats better, an undersized power forward who only shoots 3's?

When you play Hayes limited minutes he gets you extra possesions with his steals and offensive boards, lessens the other player's effectiveness in the post (not all but most nights), and on offense all the offense can go through the other scorers. Cant do that all game long or Chuck will leave points off the board, but basically as long as you have 4 ok scorers on the court Hayes is a good role player.

Whats the difference between 1 thru 4 being ok on offense and Deke being a liability. Or 1 thru 3 and 5 being good on offense and Hayes being a liability?

Yeah i saw both Dallas games, the suns game and the portland game. Aldridge just shoots over Hayes. Im not bashing Hayes or anything he is a good guy but I believe he is just 2 much of a liability

Right....for all we know? we don't know

but what does that mean? It means you think you know better than Adelman, and you haven't even seen Dorsey in practice.

I mean, hell, you don't know if any college player in the NCAA can play better D than Dorsey, either. but that means nothing.

you know what means something to me...both JVG and Adelman keep playing Hayes...and my eyes tell me he is far superior on d than Scola and Landry. What the hell can Dorsey do better than that that Adelman refuses to use.

stop it. let the coach do his job. He has played Landry, Scola and Brooks perfectly through their years and he has DNP'd Head. He wants to play Hayes over Dorsey. He has more BBall IQ that us and he has more facts since he is the one running the practices.

    don't be a dork.

The only thing Hayes needs to do is stop shooting when defended. If its a quick pass to him under the basket and he is free then yeah go ahead. But when defended he doesn't need to be shooting or posting up.

I would rather trade Alston before Hayes.

Hayes is an extremely cheap contract and your saying all this make you ignorant of your basketball IQ.

Hayes is definitely not a problem and he is great on this team.

HOWEVER... I wouldn't call him an untouchable that we should never trade. As opposed to our stars and battier/scola.

Yes, Hayes brings a lot to the table, but remember we are quite loaded at the PF position. We should definitely keep Hayes because he is so important to us, unless an opportunity comes up for us to get a legit backup C who has similar defensive capabilities to hayes.

Remember, coaches love him, so he is a good tradable asset. You have to give up something to get what you want. That's the case with any good, fair trade.

Chuck is a great defensive pf but the problem is he's called on to back up Yao and he's too short to cover for most nights. Keep Chuck to slow down the high scoring pfs in the league but we really need to get a back up C. I can't believe we've gone this long without one.

As much as I like to knock Hayes, he has played extremely well this year. Now if only he could develop an offensive game.

The guy we really need to get rid of his Alston. He's *never* going to be a decent PG.
