I guess I'm a little new to Clutch, so forgive me if this topic has been discussed already ! anyway.. getting on with it... IMO Kenny Thomas is a little undersized to play PF and lacks the desire to play in the post. He's a good shooter ( not that he's shot well this season ! ) and I think that takes him away from the basket a bit. So I was kinda thinking that we should encourage young Kenny to give up the cheeseburgers in the off-season and lose some lbs so he can fill in at SF. I really like him as a player, but he hurts us defensively a little just because he's not a shotblocker and he's a bit undersized... and as we're all aware there's a bit of a problem for the rockets when we play against slightly bigger lineups. So having Kenny shed a few pounds might help us match up with the bigger teams a bit better. Of course the question still has to be asked " where will the PF come from ? " but that's not for this issue !! So tell me what you think - should we try "convert" Kenny ? Or is he a much better PF then I give him credit for ? Or is he totally useless because he's a touch small ? ------------------
I would much prefer KT to bulk up and continue to play PF. Hes not totally useless as a PF. Hes great off the bench, and has had some great games for a rookie. He has some awarness in the post, which is more than i can say for some of the other frontcourt players. I guess he could be converted to a SF, but it would be very difficult and I don like the Corliss Wiliamson SF. I totally agree with what you say about Kenny being GREAT off the bench - he's got great intensity and can certainly provide a spark.. I just think he's too small to start at PF, which is a bit of a shame. I also hate the Corliss', the LJ's the Mase's at SF.. bring on the perimiter players and open up the lanes for Francis some.. I guess I was asking if we could convert Thomas becuase we're lacking a defender at SF and the bigger style SF's constantly bully the rockets around. Anyway.. who knows ! Bring on the draft so we can see what we've got for next season !! ------------------
