When we could go on Jazz or Mavericks or Nuggets boards and rip them for their suckiness. When we could NEVER expect to be ripped in our house for our own suckiness. When trolls were a thing to be laughed at rather than annoyed by. When the BBS was prolifierated with Will's and aelliot's and Doc Rocket's. When oeilpere was simply "popeye" and was unafraid of being e-stalked by fans burnt out by losing. When Doc Rocket wasn't cryptic. When hating Scottie Pippen and loving Mario Elie was our favorite past time. When teenager's were shredded, then subsequently praised, for their ability to ease drop in the mall. When the line between hating and loving Charles Barkley wasn't so blurry. When an injured player was just injured and not the worst player ever to play the game just because we hadn't seen him play in a while. Remember when... (your turn)
No, I can't say I remember that. Remember... When we thought the Rockets were always a lock to make the playoffs. When tanking was considered something the Spurs did to get Duncan. When a championship within the next 5 years seemed probable.
When we always had three hall of famers in our lineup....... When we used to talk about wether our wins were pretty or ugly..... When the word "DREAM" was typed more often in this forum..... When it always used to be Rockets-Spurs-Jazz for division title..... When we had a 10 RPG player!
HEY! you know what i hate...when they show denver-seattle game 5 on nba.com tv and then i think it was bob costas who says "these nuggets are gonna be around for a long time!" and praises them n ****. damn, i hate hearing that knowing they are all gone.
I remember. We are indeed beset by suckiness... and it was not always so. I miss many of the great posters that made lurking here such a pleasure. They should return to their former selves and relish anew ripping each other a new one. We shall prevail next season, and this suckiness shall depart. Let it be so!
Actually the scary thing is we were losing to the Grizzlies even when we had Charles, Clyde and Dream!
remember the days when you thought none of the big time posters were cc.net/Rocket bandwagoners. don't bail on us now, just because we are losing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh, and remember when JAG was posting up a storm! Welcome back JAG.
when The Summit was packed every night with loud fans...... when our home was still called The Summit....... when we weren't wearing pajamas for uniforms...... when you could say you were a Rockets fan and not be asked why....... when other teams feared the Rockets........
Summit, I feel your post... but how about: When the "dream shake and fade away", was money everytime! When we didn't need a "Bobble Head Night" to get fans to come to the game. When "and the rockets red glare", in the national anthem had 16,285 fans on their feet screaming! When we didn't need the "Roof Top Rowdies" to get people to cheer. When we didn't need "Remember When " posts, becasue all was good in BIG TWOSTON!!!
so wait, then does this mean there used to be no "i can't believe what i'm seeing" or "where's the effort" or "francis is so stupid" posts like midway through the first quarter back then. wow, i don't remember those days.
-when I was a lurker -when the bbs thought the rebuilding was done - when there was complaint that our offese relied too much on boring post up scoring -we had a frontcourt player named Barkley who would apologize for only ending up with 4 boards for the entire game -when tanking was bad (hehehe)
when our frontcourt was the BEST part of our team?? when guys in Rockets uniforms actually played defense -- even guys in the backcourt??? when the Rockets were the lead game on SportsCenter highlights?? when FM radio stations mixed music with Rockets' highlights?? when there were parades and ring ceremonies?? when there was the imminent possibility of parades and ring ceremonies?? when Texadelphia was packed during the playoffs with fans watching games on PPV?? when getting Rockets tickets was difficult??
Hey, I never refer to Francis as "stupid". No, back then the Rockets played with effort and heart. There was to reason to criticize them back in the old days.
