Good LORD, how do you remember this stuff?? I think you're younger than me, too.

Can you tell me who the Oilers played in the first game of the Jeff Fisher era? I just remember loving it because the very first drive was about 15 plays and took about 10 minutes off the clock and ended in a TD. Quite a change from the run-n-shoot... not to mention a sign of things to come.

afl; but i'm wrong. each team was granted full access to negotiate with players specific to their region: what a concept!

still... they took that year's heisman winner.

i can look it up; i know it was after a horrible monday night loss to the bills, which led to the firing of gilbride and pardee.

the 1994-1996 era all kind runs together. i had, more or less, checked out by then.

At least the Oilers came into the NFL with an intact roster that had been playing together for a while.

It was harder to be good pre salary cap. I'm still a titans fans and they're my #1 football team, but I also like the texans. To put this in focus, in 06, the teams were 2 of the worse, since the titans have won 28 games and the texans 17. I still think the texans are only a couple players away from being really good.

I might have to slightly disagree with that, if you could draft the right players and sign the appropriate FAs...you could have pretty decent team.

There were a lot of middle of the road teams in 90s, like the Oilers, Falcons, Saints, Rams, Lions, and Seahawks who were stacked with talent all over the field.
