That's probably not enough. What we need is a good big man that can rebound and play tough defense for at least 15 minutes a game.

Sad but true. Yao needs more than 3 games to rest. He should take all the time he needs to get 100% to avoid any further damage.

The below is from the chron.com, I guess that Yao has never 100%, likely he will miss more than one games.

    Jon,

In the article you say Yao is being checked because of "intermitent soreness in his left foot"

If he sprained his ankle then why is his FOOT sore? Did you mean ankle?

Is this the foot that had the stress fracture last season?

(I don't mean anything. I'm reporting what the Rockets said. They said foot. It is the same foot as last season's injury. -- Jonathan)

(Double checked. I'm told again, it's a sore foot, not a turned ankle. They also said it is an ongoing soreness, rather than a sudden event. -- Jonathan)

Maybe the intermittent soreness is due to the lead?

God - its Yao's foot again. I wish it was another part of his body, this isn't good for the long term. We're only 1/8 through the season so how is he supposed to play the entire season plus playoffs without reinjuring the foot again.

What is wrong with that comment? it was just a reiteration of what should not have taken place. I see the genetic experiment between your parents does not work!

Y'all are crazy. Put Scola at the 5, put Hayes on Dirk. If Dorsey plays that means we lose.

Dorsey should see minutes. He can be a big surprise to this team. Dorsey is powerful and can finish. A bigger and better version of Chuck Hayes. He just need the opportunity just like Wafer did.

Dorsey is a foul machine, put him in an he'll be back on the bench in 10 minutes after fouling out. Rotate Scola and Hayes to guard Dirk and when Landry comes in have him guard Dampier.

I think his point was that it's accepted wisdom around here that Yao would have been better sitting out the Olympics.

Stating the obvious, and so on.

Yao playing in the Chinese olympics was more important to him than winning an NBA championship. That is why he played. He would have played if he only had one leg left.

So him sitting out the Olympics was not an option.

...but yes, under normaly circumstances he should not have played. But hosting the olympics and being the start athlete in the largest country on earth means ....he's playing.

So you can swallow any more comments suggesting he should not have played.
