He had a 30 point game already this season. Not saying he's gonna average 30, but he is capable of it and he's still Shaq.
That's nothing. Kelvin Cato blocked his jump hook 2 consecutive trips down the floor when he was in MVP form. Eddie Griffin and Yao Ming combined to block his first 3 shots in Yao v. Shaq aka "the greatest game of steve francis' career.'
Shaq is capable of performing well in spurts during games, but sometimes he will look awful. He's not completely washed up yet.
When you're minus 29 (16 worse than the next worse Suns player) and your team only loses by 12, you know you're washed up.
IIRC, all 3 blocks were from help defenders (Millsap n AK47). So, it's not like Shaq was blocked 1 on 1. Also, let's give the Shaq some breaks. Shaq is 36 after all.
Stick to the subject. We're talking about Shaq got stuffed, so just stick to that and not someone else.
Quick question: What is people's facination w/ blocks? I mean I love when one of our Rockets players block the opposing team because it gets you all pumped up, but so what if someone gets blocked? How do you relate getting blocked to being washed up? The way Shaq played against Yao the other night, he didn't look washed up to me. I still think he is the third best center after Yao and Howard. At least he still requires double teams unlike younger "non-washed up" players (i.e. Dampier, Bogut, and the rest of the centers in the game).
Speaking of Ericka Dampier, he owned Dwight Howard the other night. And of course, EMEKA OKAFOR owned Dwight Howard too!
The two blocks by AK47 were help defense. But the Milsap block was a block on Shaq's dunk. That was just amazing. I guess many of you didn't watch the game. Those three blocks coupled by quick scores on the other end let Utah blow the game open. It was a close game up until those 3 blocks. Shaq gets blocked on point blank dunk. Maybe yall think that's nothing, but I haven't seen it.
Exactly. I saw that and was like: WTF???? Tell you what, nobody would dare to try that if that was the young Shaq. His arm would have been sent through the net with the ball.
his 100 layers of muscle haven't fully depleted yet. right now i'd say 10 have said farewell, while the other 90 are still slapping people in the paint
Good question, Marcus Camby averages 3.5 blocks per game and people suddenly want to put him into the category of elite defender. If that were the case, Denver would have been championship material.
