Is playing really well with limited minutes. Anyone know what happened to Barry? Is he injured or is it just coach's decision to sit him out? I think von could replace him as the bench SG if von can consistently play like this.

I know this probably took you like...I don't know, a long time to conjure up and everything, but your thoughts would have fit in just fine in the game thread or in THIS almost identical thread about Von Wafer.

Secondly, Brent Barry is out with an injured thumb. It's not exceptionally difficult to look at his NBA.com, ESPN.com, or Yahoo.com profile to find that out.

Partially correct. Luther Head should never play again, at least he should never appear in a NBA game. It's unfair to indentify Head as a crap though, he's pretty good compared to the amature players and he is still able to score 8 or 9pts/game if he plays in ABA or D-league. I bet if Luther were 20 and still playing in NCAA, he would be gonna be drafted with a lottery pick.

Von Wafer plays an efficient role as a bencher, but I don't think he can give us a lakers type of bench. Lakers type of bench consists of a suite of big guys like Mihm and Odom, but we don't have a guy who's over 6-9 on bench. Wafer is far from enough to give us a Lakers type of bench.

Luther can shoot, and shooters will always have their place in the NBA.

I was wrong about Wafer, at least so far I am. I came out and said he was just a streaky shooter and he's come out 2 games in a row and hit a solid percentage, and he has the body to defend better on SGs than Head (although Luther did a solid job on Paul when he was in the game).

well he's taller than luther, better than luther, faster than luther which improves our bench....Mihm is useless....Luther should be in the D-league at best....people dont realize, NOBODY wants luther!

Why does Wafer look good out there? because he play to his role very well and doesn't try to do too much out there on the court. You rarely see wafer taking a bad shot when he's out there on the court, which makes him look gd. Plus, defensively, he's better than luther, so we're not seeing lapses on wither end of the court.

I think once rafer's suspension is over, he has a chance to take up brent barry's role as the first SG off the bench. Well that obviously has to depend on our needs of a ball handler which only brent can bring.

You can't really say that. Remember Novak? Novak is a stickman for his position, like Luther Head. Head is more valuable than Novak, but Novak still gets a contract.

So IMO, Luther has trade value, but of course at this stage if I were RA I would seriously consider replacing Luther with Wafer. The only thing stopping Wafer from replacing Head completely and cracking the rotation right is his defense. We still haven't seen how well he can do on defense.

steve is a big question mark. dunno if he can come back. if he does, how god will he be? he can be very friggin good if he can do wat he did in orlando. but maybe he cant do that anymore. if he cant hes still good enough to play a backup role. but we have a lotta backups at the wings.

then u gotta look at brooks. how much can he improve this season? enough to take over the point or be a very good backup? can steve outplay that? if he does then wat do we do w/ brooks?

complicated but i think he can come back. dunno how good he can be tho

Now we have Wafer,we dont need Head any more, when Head is on the court he is always have turnovers, juast like vs Spurs,we are so patient with him,but he always disappointing us,especially in the playoffs,Wafer is more efficient,he have high percentage of shooting, include 3-point-shot,also his defence skills are not too bad,I believe he had conquered Adelman,he will be in our roster

i like him, he knows his role and does his job well, he doesn't do what he can't do. that's what role player needs to be.

Yea, because teams routinely use their lottery picks on undersized shooting guards with average athleticism and junior high level passing/ball handling abilities.
