Yao has become the 3rd or maybe 4th option on this team.

Seriously, most of Yao's points are coming from either offensive rebounds or broken plays, it's pretty obvious that Adelman is not drawing up plays for Yao for whatever reason. And it's not working. The offense has been struggling consistently.

I gotta say, Adelman should either

    a) Just give the ball to Yao every play and go JVG, inside out. A proven if somewhat shoddy offense, but Yao is a center that deserves a touch in every half-court set.

    or

    b) Stop bull****ting around and GET ON THE PLAYERS for running isos all the time. This is NOT the offense anyone visualized. If you're going to use Yao as a decoy and as a mobile pick machine, at least make sure he's not just wasting his breath for isos.

I mean the third quarter of this game spells it all out...I'm happy if the Rockets win. It's just that their offense merits a second look (don't tell me 40%ish team FG is what this team is aiming for).

    Totally disagree with you...

The biggest prob is that they are missing shots... They are starting to adjust to the offense with everyone moving.

Look at how much T-Mac is passing up shots to find the open man.. I would prefer a very balanced scoring and not one guy scoring 40 every night.

i didn't get in this game why he didn't go to yao more in the 3rd quarter when the offense was struggling. yao was fresh and had a good half, and the WHOLE DAMN QUARTER there was ONE post up.

is that how you use your all-star center?

that's horrible coaching, you coach with what u have, not what you imagine what you have.

That is an odd statement. 60%or of Yao's turnover are fouls. Another 30% or so are passes to him in his junk (he's 7'6 Rafer!) and the other 10%ish is a poor play.

The ball needs to go down to him in the post. Period.

Only 9 attempts tonight. Too little.

Then who is our first, second, or third option?

This team has no leadership and all of our players are horribly inconsistent.

    I'm speechless as of now.

From the looks of it...McGrady jacking contested jumpers in our first option.

Artest jacking contested jumpers is our second option.

Brooks running around is our third option.

None of which are as effective as Yao posting up.

well, in interest of fairness, Yao was sucking the entire 2nd half. Did he make a single shot that wasn't a tip in after halftime?

Looks like aron brook is the first option now that he is shooting the most critical shot. BTW I watched the stats from yahoo so I only know he took the most important shot, which is a miss

    Yao can't catch passes.

Yao can't hold onto the ball.

    Yao gets out-muscled CONSISTENTLY.

Yao is a NON factor so far this season.

That is not coaching or game plan.

I would like to see Scola get more opportunities to work in the low post. Take some touches away from Yao and give them to Luis.

He had like 7 points in a span of 2 minutes before halftime. That's about as hot as hot can get.

Then coming out of the half, he was completely ignored for something like 10 minutes.

we dumped it to Yao every game with JVG, and what did that bring us? a first round exit. Dumping to Yao every time down is not a proven or reliable offense. See 06 Jazz series.

he had a hot second quarter, YET, RA only GAVE HIM ONE POST UP in the entire 3rd quarter....how's that good coaching?

u gotta use what you have, when you have a great post-up guy like yao, you gotta use him. look at the spurs, they go to duncan 50% of time even if he misses beccause they know every shot taken by a great post player is pretty much a good shot...better than 20 footer by t-mac.

Yao in the post had nothing to do with the 06 Jazz loss. Also, some of us remember how an effective big man in the post can win championships...

AB became our first option and we deserved the loss.
