Perhaps it is standard procedure to test drive all vehicles. I think you're getting worked up over nothing. Why don't you just tell yourself that everything will be fine and pick up your car without looking at the odometer? This is just a car we're talking about. Not your left arm.
I guess it is mostly a trust factor. I mean if I cannot trust them to not joyride then how do I know they are doing anything seriously. Plus why do I need to pay for gas for extended test drives.
really? gas? if they went 10 miles, that's what, half a gallon? that's... 85 cents? a dollar? the trust issue, that's valid. complaining for some gas, that's petty.
Walk in and thank them for the service they provided and leave without looking at the odometer. There are more important thinks to occupy yourself with than this. Trust me
well I did not record the milage last time I noticed the gas gauge was down. For me to notice it would have to be a pretty good dip. My friend used to be a tech at a dealer and he told me stories of driving cars home for a test drive.
One thing I'm sure you can be certain of, complaining about this important issue will almost certainly get you way better service the next time you have to bring your vehicle in.
If it's a small shop, maybe. If it is a professional shop, I don't see how a manager would have any patience for an hourly worker spending his time on the clock joyriding in a customer's car. Anyway, when you get the car back, tell us how many miles were added to the odometer so we can know if you were being a dip**** or not. Oh, and if they were joyriding, I'd complain to the manager and then, if they have a regional office or headquarters, send them a complaint too. But, 10 miles doesn't count as joyriding.
all the people who seem to think I am being a totaly jerk please feel free to lend me your car, I have to run some errands.
Perhaps you could partner up with nickthejerk. That way you can cockblock buddies and complain about miles on your car
I will lend you my car for 10 miles, but only after you change the oil and perform recall maintenance on it.
