Whenever I get my car back from service I always notice the miles have gone up. I never had any proof but yesterday I took it in (dealership) and I took a picture of the odo. They had to do a recall in addition to a oil change and stuff and told me it would not be done till this afternoon which is crazy. If I get it back and the miles have gone up like 10 or over who can I complain to? Will the service manager give a crap? Should I not just complain directly to the manufacture that their dealer is joyriding in my car?
In this instance, what was the recall for? If it the odometer had 10 miles more then they drove it out 5 miles and back 5 miles. That doesn't seem terribly out of line to me. I'd rather they test drive my car for 10 miles to make sure things are O.K. than drive it around the parking lot.
Concur. They're not joyriding or picking up their dry cleaning. If they test drive your car for you then they're being thorough.
I wouldn't worry about it. They have to make sure it's fixed. If you had brought it in for an oil change or to get a free pine tree air freshener that would have been another thing.
I need to find a picture of those two dudes that drove Cameron's dad's car in Ferris. That is the first thing that came to my mind.
it is some stupid airbag module thing. My friend owns a body shop and told me it should take 5 minutes tops. I drive a sports car.
I just went to get my car looked at, although mine was engine related so I knew he had to drive it around on the toll way...For something non-driving related, why would they drive your car 10 miles? I would ask why...
Perhaps to make sure that the airbag module they replaced doesn't cause the airbag to deploy while driving, stopping, turning, etc.?
