Exactly. Dwight disappears against quality opponents whereas Yao get owned by Hawes, Perkins, Kaman etc etc.
Dwight get blocked but blocked others more than he get blocked. Yao get blocked and get blocked by the rim too!

Dwight couldnt dominate Yao but he dominates the rest of the league. Yao dominated Dwight but get owned by Kaman, Perkins etc etc!

Funny when Diwght put up monster numbers people are saying he is padding stats. When yao put up 30/10/2 the same people will say yao is dominating!

What's with all these DH nut-huggers?

DH puts up monster numbers, but when competing for a championship, he's definitely not my first pick for center even if he comes with the 3 zebras.

what's the point? do you really think, by the rate yao's going this season, howard won't beat him in a personal matchup sooner or later? and in other news, yao still can't dominate 36 years old shaq! and i thought yao already passed shaq but now i have to rethink that!

It was against a sorry team, but does someone on the opponent's team get a triple double every night they play the thunder? I'd say its a pretty big deal whenever somebody gets a triple double that includes 10 blocks.

Didn't you read any of the before posts?

If you have, you might have noticed someone mentioning Yao's performance against the same "sorry" team.

I strongly dissagree with the whole statement and the basis behind it. You call leading the league in rebouding with 14+ boards an easy task? putting up 23, 25 points with virtually no low post game just a stat that happens? For one there's a thin set of players (not only Cs) that can even grab 10+ REBs. At this point in their career Howard is clearly the better player. I can only begin to imagine what his game could be with some consistency with scoring moves besides dunks....now yao is not a bad player. i would say hes a top 3 C. but hes no Howard.

seriously. why do people talk about yao's post game like he's hakeem olajuwon? last time i checked, for all of yao's supposed offensive superiority, he's shooting a pretty dismal 46% from the field. that's awful for a center. who cares if dwight gets his points off dunks, he's still getting his points and he's getting them more efficiently than yao. pretty sure everyone here would rather see yao dunking the ball than taking turnaround jumpers.

God, can we at least wait more than 8 games to proclaim Yao is over the hill?

    The whole debate is stupid.

Yao has a better offensive skill set, but is a limited rebounder and an average defender at best.

Howard is insanely athletic, which more than compensates for his lack of fundamentals. He's a much better rebounder than Yao, but his man to man defense is piss poor.

They've each got advantages over the other, but they're totally different animals and comparing the two is a waste of time. Just drop it already.

All players do that. I get what you mean but...still. He may not be a Dream/Shaq/Kareem type but he can still play. He brings it on D and on the boards most games, his only problem is that he'll never be a consistently dominant post scorer. But, how many of those are there?
