I was thinking about buying this basketball, but I wanted to see if anyone here has tried it first. I'm concerned that it isn't going to be properly weighted since the pump is on one side of the ball. Does it affect the rotation of the ball? Any input would be greatly appreciated before I dump too much money on a ball that could be worthless.

    Thanks,

    B

Just my 2 cents, but why bother? Sounds like something that would break/wear out pretty easily. What additional benefit does an internal air pump bring? I never realized that the airing up of basketballs was a problem that needed a solution. I'd buy a top-line Spalding & a hand pump (would probably be cheaper, & a better ball as well).

True, that is probably a better idea. I just thought it would be cool since I could just leave it in my trunk and have a ball for pick-up games and adjust it if it needed air. Mainly, I guess it's my laziness, and an air pump is just another thing to lose in a garage.

We have one at my office (where we play at lunchtimes) and after a couple of games, you could hear a "rattling" inside. Not too sure about putting the ball out of balance - I seriously doubt it, though.

Of course, if you don't get it, you just know there will be a time where you can't play because all you balls are flat and no one has a pump.

Tape the needle to the pump, if you ever find both at the same time :)

If you are talking about the Infusion balls, don't bother. I bought one a few months ago, and the orange lining is peeling off really badly. The weight is pretty good, and I never heard a rattling sound, but mine just didn't last.

Looks like it's back to regular balls for me....

Thanks for the info. Looks like I'll just get a normal one, since it's not worth it if it wears that quickly. I still use the one I bought in college 4 years ago and it's in good shape. Instead I'll just buy a silly hand pump and tape the needle to it.

I have one of those cheap pumps from wally world, the kind that plug into the cig. lighter..just get yourself one of those and leave it in your trunk.I think mine was under 10$.I've had it for a few years and it's even helped me out with flat tires.
