Oh wow did you come up with that all by yourself? Clever. I really like the ninja offense bit.

Maybe next time you're wondering if we're going to make the playoffs you can think just as hard about it.

    Just kidding.

Anyways Kobe's the best and LeBron's a close second. I just can't believe that Kobe and co. couldn't take the Celtics to at least 7 games. I hate both those teams but...7 games would have been better. I don't know how Kobe let himself be outplayed by Paul Pierce. That led to him thinking he's just the biggest baller alive. At least if the Lakers won and Kobe won Finals MVP that statement would hold weight...

Like Houston's 22 game win streak.... they had a pretty easy schedule, should that be discredited? ;)

Haha wow that's an interesting video. I wonder what Lakers fans were thinking about the level of talent on the team. Also, maybe if Kobe passed in more of those situations, it wouldn't have been that bad...interesting stuff.

That dude needs to stop comparing the defense Kobe faces to what Jordan faced though. It's stupid. Wasn't the hand check rule allowed in Jordan's era?

Indeed, rule changes have helped the scorer and made it more difficult for defenders. Kobe faced nothing like what Jordan faced.

    :D

Yea, I failed big time with that prediction and ate crow in the end. I fully believed it at the time, too. The West was incredibly deep and we were playing like crap.

The fact is though that 16 out of 30 teams make the playoffs. It wasn't much of an accomplishment for a team with high expectations coming into the season. As far as Yao being out, I take the stance that his presence wouldn't have been enough anyway. The Jazz were just a better, deeper team that we matched up horribly with as the last two playoff series have shown.

If Tmac was able to make his jump shots earlier in his career, why is he not able to making them now??

hey, hey, whoa penny didn't stink. He was still pretty good when he was on the court the first year or two there but injuries got to him.

He was the first victim of the Magic wing player curse. (Penny, Hill, Mcgrady) :p

Well, they'll be playing the Hornets tonight, who are at full force. And then we'll see how they will beat them. Cause I can almost guarantee that they will beat the Hornets.

There's so much hate towards the Lakers and Kobe on this board. I'm not surprised.

McGrady used to be a much better jumpshooter especially off the dribble. I blame his decline on him not being able to jump as high on his jumpshot. His shot has always been so flat that he relies on such a high jump to line drive it in.

They've had an easy schedule so far. That's not to be discounted...they've started great, but it's been relatively easy. Heck, the week of November 2 - 8 (7 days), they only played 1 game, which was at home. When they finally played again, also at home, against the Rockets, they pulled away in the second half...not surprising, the Rockets are in the middle of a 5 game road trip. So from November 2nd - 10th, they didn't have to travel and only played 2 games, both at home, with multiple days apart.

They played Dallas last night. On the road, and had just played Houston. Dallas isn't as good this year, and Lakers still pulled away, but not as easily.

On the other hand, now we have the Hornets, who have been resting since their home win Saturday against the Heat. Now there's no excuse for their loss to the Bobcats, but they've had a lot of time off, they're at home and the Lakers are on game 2 of a back to back, on the road, and the 3rd game in 4 nights.

I'll give this one to the Hornets, and would be willing to do a signature bet on it.

Newsflash...this is a Rockets board. We hate all other teams, especially those that have had success, in the Western Conference, and whom have beaten the Rockets in the playoffs before. That makes it part of the "rivalry".

Add-in Kobe's questionable personality (public digs at other players, acting like a baby, adultery), and why should you be surprised?

I don't expect to go to a Lakers board and have people fawning over any Rocket players...

is this the curse that happens after you sign a massive contract with Orlando then get traded?

Anyone remember cribs where they show Penny's giant home with the bowling lanes?

    is this some joke?

if you thought kobe struggled look at lebron's numbers against the celtics. he put up some of the worst numbers i've ever seen by a player in the postseason. just crowd the paint and let lebron brick from the midrange.

kobe is was getting defended by 2-3 guys a lot of the time and his teammates didn't step up.

lebron is no where the complete player kobe is; i don't see how people think lebron is better.

Goodness gracious, I often forget how amazing McGrady used to be. I think once he started bulking up and his back flared, it was just downhill from there. Look at how skinny he used to be, then fastforward to his second season in Houston and he doesn't look the same at all.
