Don't forget that on 11/14/08, he left the game early because of a hyperextended elbow. He probably would have had a lot mroe points because he looked like he had a rythym going. Other than that, I think Tracy needs to come back, and become that elite superstar that he once was, and still is capable of doing. Even if he's not 100% and isn't shooting the ball well, he needs to realize that he's one of the best in the league at driving to the basket, and should use his skills to his advantage. You can't let such talent go to waste in this team. We all need to realize that although Tracy isn't as athletic as he once was, he still has so much offensive talent that could be useful, and that he needs to use it to its fullest. Not too many 6-8 guys can do what he does; being a playmaker, driving to the basket, and nailing shots all at the same time. It takes a lot of energy and athleticism to do what he does, and of course health. Once he regains full health, I'm confident he'll be back to his normal self. When you don't get the right amount of lift on your shots, you're gonna miss, and defending requires a lot of lateral, side to side, back and forth movement, and sprinting, which, again, isn't easy to do on a weak leg.
I guess its understandable for some of the clutchfans to be pessimistic about our chances against the Lakers. It is really obvious about the Laker's height advantage not only to the Rockets but to the league as well. Rockets lack size in comparison but I think we have the better talent. If we talk about a 12 man rotation, The Lakers has the advantage. But if we talk about using an 8 man rotation, we have the edge. The main reason that we lose the game is their size and the effect is their edge in rebounding. Offense will come around, I believe. Does size always win in the NBA? I am no historian. I guess there are more teams who won that have bigger players than their opponents. But I think it is not always the case. Who would have thought that the Bulls of the Jordan era eventually beat the bigger Isiah Pistons team in the playoffs? Who would have thought that our 94 Rockets (not sure if the year is right) would beat the Knicks that have bigger players like Oakley,Ewing and Mason in the finals? I am sure there are a lot of examples but there is always a hope of a David beating a Goliath.
oh yeah, I think the Pistons had Laimbeer,Mahorn,Salley, Rodman and Edwards,Agguire at that time if I am correct
do u even understand what talent means ? lol, dream on. how about speed of the 2nd unit and the ability of the 2nd unit to execute plays. ?
Too bad we DIDN'T BEAT them last week. We could also end hunger around the World and send men to Mars too. I understand your blind loyalty but we lost, so whoever saw that game, Rocket fan or Laker fan or NBA fan was witness. If you feel great after your team gets whipped that's good to know. We can definitely get past the first round!
yah i don't think we remember that if tmac plays like he normally does, and yao, andddd artest, we are UNSTOPPABLE simply put. that's just too much talent, but we have a long way to go to get over chemistry issues and injuries, but once we do ooo boy, we could be something. i saw a post about not playing mac and artest together until the end of the game, i like that idea, i don't think they complement each other very well for long periods of time, but in the clutch they will. let me just say that that may change when tmac is healthier, it may just be he can't do the things to help artest when he isn't 100 or even close to 100 percent...anyone have an estimate of where tmac is? 70 percent? more? less? i can't tell he's moving so that's something

right now maybe we can't beat the Lakers but in due time or in a few months,we can beat them.Time and chemistry will be the telling factor
What do you mean maybe? we just lost! why can't you guys accept it? I have, move on. the lesson learned is that we're not that good and we need to improve big time.
I just want to throw a small thing that I see in Mavs-Lakers game. I notice the Mavs are beating the Lakers on the board...I think they are just outhustling them and slightly more athletic. Everyone keeps saying that we need size to be effective against the Lakers, but I don't think it is as much of necessity as some make it out to be. Don't be mistaken, we could use a back-up center, since we don't really have one. I think it is more of matter of not laxing on defense, crashing the boards (which we did really well, last year, even when Yao was out), and boxing out. I think athleticism and effort is a bigger key to rebounding than actual size. I even saw the Clippers the other night with Camby and Kaman, they're good rebounders, but they can get outrebounded by smaller teams, like the Warriors.
I am also watching the game. Yes, the Mavs are hustling for the boards, but the main thing that I see is that DEFENSIVELY the Mavericks have the PERSONELL to beat the Lakers. They are switching Dirk whose 7 feet and Dampier on Gasol. And they are playing Dampier or Diop on Bynum. They have the size to make it difficult to make easy baskets and to get those rebounds. They also have athletic players that are not tall that are good rebounders, like Gerald Green (like when we had Bonzi). He can jump so high! He is starting to look like a very good all-around player instead of just an offensive player. The Mavericks are beating the Lakers right now by using their size and quickness.
Today game show Lakers are so overhype is ridiculous. Once they play outside LA Lakers they are not that good. They bearly beat Denver and now Dallas w/ no Howard. Lakers needed so luck today to beat a soft Dallas team. Lets see next game at NO.
The Lakers barely won, and that was without Josh Howard. The Mavericks played the Lakers pretty well most of the game using, as I said, their size and quickness.
The Dallas starters out-scored the Laker starters; but the Lakers' bench outscored the Dallas bench by something like 38-18. Like the Rox on Sunday, Mavs could not keep up with Lakers' 2nd unit.
They just beat us by 30 points. We have no right to do the "we beat Team A by more than they did so we are better" thing. They are better than us right now. I think we'll be as good as anyone towards mid-season but lets get to 5-3 first.
