I said it before and I'll say it again. McGrady's expiring contract will be FAR MORE valuable to this team than any of these trades. Why do we want to trade him for decent bench players when in 2 years we will have 20 MIL to spend on a star player?!

tmac is very inconsistent right now, but the games he showed up he remains our most explosive player.

and we've gone through this before last yr. when the playoffs rolls around, he IS the only one who shows up.

since we're thinking only and ONLY about the playoffs, i doubt this team wants to trade tracy. you want yao to take over? ron? ben gordon? trust me, as long as tracy shows up for the playoffs, all is forgiven .

I would trade Rafer Alston and Francis' expiring contract for Ben Gordon, thrown in Head if need be. Bulls get a veteran PG, we get Gordon for one year. Bump Brooks to starting PG.

Too bad he never shows up for the playoffs.

Tracy McGrady's playoff legacy: 0-7, blown 3-1 leads, homecourt advantages, and 40 point losses in deciding games

NO NO NO!!!!!!!! Ben Gordon is a younger version of Mike James. Just chucks the ball up everytime he gets it. I'll pass. Without McGrady the Rockets are nothing. It has been proven already so y do you guess continue to come up with threads about trading him. Give up he isn't going anywhere.

yes that's true. but we're not asking him to carry the entire load anymore in the playoffs.

but my point is he DOES show up in the playoffs statistically, unlike during the reg. season when he shows up here and there. he's a more consistent playoff performer than ANYBODY on this team.

we went through this last yr where tracy had a really UGLY stretch offensively 3 weeks prior to the playoffs. and yet we came into the playoffs and he put up 27, 8, 7. why would you want to give that up when we clearly aren't rebuilding?

and tmac's contract is up in 2010. why would you trade him now anyways?

Drew Gooden's beard is a bigger factor in the playoffs than McGrady.

And we all know that it's all his fault for the blown leads. I guess Yao never shows up for the playoffs either since he was part of the 40 point loss and two blown 2-0 leads.

The McGrady "playoff" myth is just that.

The last two playoffs with the Rockets he's not shot well. That he's averaged over 25 ppg in each series is a factor of him averaging 23 shots a game the past two trips to the playoffs.

he shot 43% last yr, which is his usually playoff average anyways. more importantly, his rebounding, assists, steals, blocks all go up. and his playing intensity def. goes up.

43% isn't something to brag about. Furthermore, that is not his normal playoff average. His first year with the Rox he shot 45% and 2 of his years with ORL he shot .448 and .462.

    He's in serious decline.

Well TMac is talented at playing basketball. You suck at posting in a board. So the comparison doesn't stick.

Yeah, but bringing up trade threads with no basis is annoying. Sometimes I click on these things almost knowing it's worthless, but still do so just in case it's not just a fan-made work-under-realgm trade scenario.

I don't see any problem discussing a trade when something has been leaked, or the management put out words that a player is available. But just naming players in deals is quite pointless. And results in discussions that only bring about animosity between those who like a player and those who do not.

I agree, we were better off taking shots away from T-Mac and giving more shots to an injured Alston, Jackson, Head, Mutombo, a completely lost Scola, an injured Battier, and Hayes.
