I like a decent amount of homerism but . . .

did you hear Matt Bullard during the game Sunday? I have never heard anyone b!tch about the refs so much. "The refs are only seeing red!" "The refs are only seeing red!" Over and over and over.

He would complain until the replay came on and then when there was minimal contact, he would say it was a lot of contact. Everyone I was watching with noticed it. I got a headache listening to it.

If there is an obvious missed call, I understand every once in a while, but it was all he talked about.

    Maybe the refs were colorblind...

Yeah, that was annoying. When the Rockets are playing bad, the excuse making about officiating just pisses me off more. At least accept your team is getting outplayed with some dignity. The Lakers outscored the Rockets by 45 points over the final 3 quarters. That's the fault of the referees?

From what I remember he mainly complained about it in the first quarter and going in to the second half before we got blown out...

what do you expect? It's a rockets broadcast, so they try not to talk too much about the greatness of Kobe and all the movie stars in the audience.

Would you rather them just talk about how crappy the rockets are playing for the whole game.

"Well Bill, Mcgrady just clanked another makeable jump shot"

    "Yea, he sucks today"

"Yea, he played just as bad friday"

"don't forget Yao, he's been getting blocked by the rim"

    "hahahahah...."

It's still irritating to see the refs allow Bynum to beat up Yao down low. It was shown on several replays that Bynum was literally trying to push Yao away from the basket, preventing him from getting into point blank range. The refs continue to look the other way.

I didn't get to listen to the Houston broadcast. But by the end of the game the LA announcers were intolerable as well.

I think the fact that the game was so hyped and then so disappointing made no matter what the announcers said borderline infuriating.

That really sounds like if they let some Clutchfans member do the play by play.

"Yao just picked up two quick fouls. Lets trade him before he gets another one. If not, the season is over."

When they let minimal contact go under our basket and yet call fouls for minimal contact under their basket ... there should be some complaining.

No I just don't expect after every single play for Bullard to whine and complain. Then keep whining an complaining.

When about 80% of the conversation between our announcers is about how the Rockets don't get calls, it gets annoying.

Get it down to 15% and I'll be happy.

    Exactly. Not constant complaining.

Woo is right. Bull was over the top in the Lakers game. Granted the officiating was poor to start the game, but Bull would complain about a call and then replay would not support his complaint and he'd just pretend like it did. There was in particular where he said that Kobe fouled Yao from behind. Replay showed clearly that Kobe got the ball and Bull just kept saying it was a foul.

If you think Bullard is bad, do yourself a favor and NEVER watch a Spurs broadcast. Sean Elliot literally makes me want to drive down to the SBC Center, and slap the living crap out of him. His homerism is completely off the charts, and it gets worse and worse as the game goes on. I am so glad I live in Houston again, so I don't have to watch that drivel anymore.

It was blatantly obvious in the second quarter that the refs were letting LA back into the game. Homerism or not, calls were being made everytime the Lakers had the ball. It wasnt bad in the 3rd and 4th, but at that point it didnt matter, Rockets were playing poorly.

Bullard had a point, officiating like that makes the games unwatchable.
