who do you think will be champion? Dallas: they have a great team, verry deep. Nowitzki is superb, Finley,Nash, van exel, and lafrentz are great scorers. Finley and driffin can play defense. San Antonio: still have the Twin towers. Duncan is great. robinson is not getting better, i think this is 1 of the last chance for san antonio. they have a good inside out game, with smith as 3point shooter. Bowen is a great defender. Sacramento: Webber is great, stojacovic, is a superb shooter, Divac a nice center, Bibby a solid pg. and christy a good defender, After dallas and portland the deepest team. Minesota: scerbiak is a nice shooter. A few good role players, And of course Garnett one of the best PF in the league. Utah: malone stockton ar getting old, but still can produce. (i don't think they stand a chance but you will never know). Portland: verry deep team, are getting red hot these days. have a verry deep team. BUT they have Scottie (i trip when it counts in game one of the series against the lakers) Pippen. so i don't give them much of a chance. Lakers: Shaq and Kobe. Need i say more, the have freewealed through the season. when the playoffs begin shaq will dominate. and kobe will hit the clutchshot, with a little help of Horry(i love this guy in the playoffs. East team You never know maybe there are miracles (denver did trade van exel and lafrentz for howard hardaway
I will stick to my theory of Lakers winning title, Kobe & Shaq getting into dispute, Kobe leaving for free-agency (that is, if he is a free agent next year....right? Isn't he?) Then the Lakers having to rebuild. Ooooh, now that would be sweet.
Kobe is nothing close to being a free agent. I believe in like 5 more years or so. I think Kobe signed a 7-year max contract after the 2000 season. If you're lucky, maybe the Lakers will lose Samaki Walker or something. Kobe and Shaq are over their little media created "feud". I think both guys have realized that they must have the other in order to win rings. It's not like Kobe or Shaq is being limited to 10 shots per game either. As long as Phil is in LA, Shaq and Kobe will be.
Damn, I could've sworn somewhere that I heard that he was a FA. Oh well. Then its gonna be Lakers for quite a few years.
Dirk will lead Dallas to the championship. You all have still not even realized how good he is going to be.
Dallas is fools gold right now, they just don't match up well versus Shaq (not that others do "well" but others do less badly), won't have enough time to fully integrate Nick/Raef and their interior defense isn't good enough. SA, forgettaboutit, Duncan doesn't have near enough offensive help. No one else except Sac is worth a mention at this point. Since the Bibby trade I have said Sac is the only rival with a chance and I still believe it. The Lakers will probably win again, but if anyone knocks them off it is Sacremento. They might just have enough guns to go toe-to-toe with Shaq-Kobe and steal enough close games at the line. I don't like them any better (probably worse) than LA so I am in a quandry who to route for, but I do truly believe Sac may take it this year.
IF anybody has a chance to knock off the Lakers I'll have to put my money on Portland. They have so many weapons and if Rasheed can come back and play up to his ability they can be deadly. By the way I project a Big win for Portand against LA coming up if Pippen doesn't F%#*% things up again.
The title count in Texas still remains as Houston 2 San Antonio 1 Dallas 0 I don't want either the Spurs or Mavs to tie us.
Lakers again. Just like last year, they are cruising through the regular season and they won't turn it up until the playoffs. Yes, they are the only team that can pull that off since they have the best center, the best two-guard and the best coach in the league. Dallas won't have the inside scoring to stay with LA because when you live and die by the three, it's a short life. Dallas is the Milwaukee of the West, and although I would love to see Dallas be there in the end, it's just not going to happen. LA will beat New Jersey in the Finals, 4 games to 2.
