This is crazy. The officer should be out a job. You know, it's amazing in times like these, when people can't seem to hold on to employees due to tough times, that we have jackasses of public workers pulling these stunts. Props to the councilwoman for laying down the law on the police office, that should have been laying down the law.
I think we all would be amazed at how often this happens. . . esp when there are not cameras are around Rocket River
Sheesh. You know this stuff goes on all the time to normal folks. They tell you to do something and they expect you to do it like an automaton. If you 'dare' to 'disobey' them while doing something legal even, they'll freak on you.
I agree. Cops love to abuse their power. When I was in HS, a couple of my friends dealt drugs. One time, we got caught by a cop, and he found some crack cocaine on my friend. We all thought we were gonna get arrested. Instead, this cop takes my friends crack cocaine and throws in on the ground and smashes it with his foot. And then he tells my friend to get on the ground and snort it up or else he's taking us all to jail. Needless to say, my friend snorted it up off the sidewalk and we were let go.
PEOPLE love to abuse their power, but not ALL people and not ALL cops either. There are a lot of great police officers and there are some jerks. The jerks make it bad for everyone...just like normal people.
Very very true. But normal PEOPLE don't get benefit of the doubt when it comes to situations like this. Cop: He made a move at me. I had to protect myself. Normal person: Um, no I wasn't. I was just taking pictures. Jury: Cop is right. Jailtime.
Yup. Amazing how non-cops abuse power. How about we just say there are just dumb people in all walks of life? So much generalization is made about "cops" as if they all walk around doing stupid stuff like this.
Dumb person putting you in headlock = assault charge Dumb cop putting you in headlock = serve and protect
the nature of the job of law enforcement both breeds this behavior and attracts people who are prone to it.
You've got a point there... I don't know how many times a cop has just walked up to me and put me in a headlock. It's really starting to get on my nerves because they always get away with it...
It is almost as annoying as all the times I have been killed by a drunk driver. That just ruins my day everytime.
