He's made that point many times in the past. I kind of makes sense. But if you don't crowd the inbounder and a particular player that isn't being doubled is able to get free, the inbounder can make an unobstructed pass. As it is, Yao prevented an easy pass to the middle, and Roy hit a shot that will miss at least 80% of the time. I think you have to live with those odds.
there are a lot times you need to play 5-on-4, no question about it. but in the particular situation like last night, adelman imo did the right thing. with .8 tick left, by putting yao in front of the passer, that provents a lob, a potential short corner 3. the error started with mcgrady's "assumption" that there would a pick (and therefore a switch). the setup was alright, it's the execution that was the issue. it's okay. we'll get 'em next time. p.s. - barkley sure knows alot bball, but not when he talks about rockets.
Uhhh... why? .8 seconds left. If the clock starts on time, no one will have time to react to a shot, so the athleticism deficit makes no difference. You put your biggest body there, and Yao's our biggest body by a mile. I so rarely do this, but in this situation I have no choice: . ...oh yes he did. "" to all of you! Seriously though, Yao being where he was took away every *good* shot they had. They happened to hit an off-balance 30-footer. I give that maybe a 10% chance of going in. You have to live with that. I can't believe you guys are up in arms that we "let them have" that oh-so-easy off-balance 30-footer. Practically a layup, right? It's like we gave the game away! Shame on us! OP = 100% right.
LOL. Totally irrelevant. We could be talking about Donuts and Burgers and somehow you would end up trashing McGrady.
