We see the player playing hard ,but where is the team, or teamwork in the court? Yao seemed to lose confidence in himself or confidence in his teammate. He is soft and unreliable this game ,though he did a great shot in the last minute. If he is in the court with no energy ,no D and no aggressiveness, rest him. McGrady seemed to play hard but he took too many hard shots. It seem that it is because of him that the rox can still be alive ,but it is also the reason why rox is barely alive.Compared with laker, esp its play with Blazers,we have to admit TMAC is not Kobe,at least not mow, he cant make his teammates better. Artest seemed invisible the whole game except in the last cut. Lose perhaps is better in some sense, lose make the Rox must answer one question, the problem is not how the Rox play this game ,the question is :CHANGE ROX NEEDS If still on this way ,Rockets still cant get out of the 1st round . We have to ask and answer the old question:Who can really carry the Rox to the Final. Rox have to find the answer even at the expense of many ugly loses. Dont be just be concerned with just wins or loses now ,but be long sighted Rox MUST HAVE ONLY ONE Player around which Rox team will run, : YAO OR TMAC or anyone else. Of course, that dont mean the other player in not that valuable Otherwise, the Rox will have no character, will always be swaying, changing this way and that way ,dependent upon who play well in recent games, and that will perplex other players for there is no solid and clear way to follow, and all these will only produce softness ,even when Artest is in Rox .
Wow nice rant on our team, you're honestly going to say that Tmac was ball hogging? He was actually shooting pretty well tonight. I have to agree that Yao didnt play well but.. calm down..
I looked at the box score, and i noticed the rockets bench was out scored, and yes the rockets starters were slow in the 1st half, and barely got it in the 2nd. Home court, and slow to get it going. Leads to TO. But, when it comes down to it the Rockets bench wasn't there. I think we need Battier back and we need to trade Francis, Hayes, and Head, for a guy who can come in with PG - Barry SG - ? / Maybe Wafer SF - Battier PF - Landry C - ? You tell me...
Look T-mac is going to have his occasional heat checks that we all disagree with. Every superstar does this. For the most part he drove to the basket. With a hurt shoulder and knee do you expect for him to drive every single play?
I stopped reading at the TMac/Kobe comparison. If that's what you expect, you're in for a long season It's one freaking game
[insert failblog image here] i fail at pointing out your fail double fail = pass? seriously, changes? seriously? the number 4 team in the league, changes? I mean come on man, it was two losses, Yao needs some time to get his hops back, and you want changes? What are you, 2pac?
5 games into the season and you're calling this a crisis? Talk about over-reaction. I will say that we are definitely not a championship team yet. During the off-season, we thought we could win it all, but I don't see that happening. In the same time, I also don't think there is a crisis here. This team can make it out of the first round IMO, and we aren't anywhere near the trade deadline. We could pick up a great player before then and elevate from a great team to a championship team.
I point out the fail of none, except 2pac ,are you? there is not inherent wrongs in the team? Injuries are really to blame for why the Rox stopped at 1ST in the last many years?
Changes needed: 1. Battier, come back soon 2. Yao, bring back your strength and confidence 3. Whole team, got ot be more aggressive in DEFENSE and REBOUNDING!
its not only about confidence. yao just not fit Adleman's system. trade him for a devcent PG plus a 7' C, and we are fine. TRADE HIM WHEN HE STILL HAS SOME VALUE FFS.
During pre-season Morey & Adelman both pointed out how Memphis's size in the frontcourt posed problems for the Rockets. I wasn't too surprised with Portland's win as they not only have the size but far better players than Memphis. Anyway, if the Rockets do replace Wafer with another non-guaranteed contract I think the Rockets are limited in who they can sign not only because of LT but of the talent available. Morey's repeatedly said there is no one worth signing but he might specifically referring to NBA free agents and NBDL players who'll sign a non-guaranteed deal. If they get creative and lucky they could go after an international player or US player playing overseas with an out clause, nba clause, or just able to get out of his contract and plying his trade in a basketball nation where the market or pay is smaller. McGrady's become a liabilty on D because of his health. The Rockets need to do more by sandwiching him in between very good defenders at PG & SF. Trade for Hinrich.
My goodness, 5 games into the season and you already want change? Yes, it was a heartbreaking loss and it shouldnt have become that way but you should remember that we were without Battier and Tmac's other leg. Sure, you can argue Oden didnt play too but then he hasnt proved anything in the NBA..yet. Also, Tmac does make his teammates better. How the **** do you think Chuck Hayes scores with his lay-ups last season? How does Alston get so many wide-open threes? Heck, even Scola benefits from Tmac's passes sometimes. Its not Tmac;s fault his teammates suck at making open shots. About Artest, 33%. He did his job and kept Roy out of his game until the last minutes when Roy hit the unexpected jumper in transition and the game-winner. Fernandez also had to work for his shots when he was against Artest. Heck, I dont even think Ive seen anyone play that hard just to get a shot off. Lastly, Yao. While we all agree he sucked again tonight and couldve done better, we could all see that Yao was being abused out there in the rebounds. He was pushed and sometimes held onto by his opponents. Sure that doesnt excuse his sucky performance tonight on the offensive end but you have to give the Blazers credit for being fast on the help-defense especially Aldridge's. Also, no D? wtf..his man barely touched the ball and if he did, it would be off a rebound he got from holding onto Yao. There was only 1 play where Yao made a mistake that led to a Joel goal and I think we know what mistake that was. Oh yeah, before you bash Yao some more, hes +16 in tonight's +/- stat. We don't need change. We just need to gel more, get our best wing defender and the other leg of our leading scorer back.
