I know, I know, this is a spur of the moment, mid-game, knee-jerk thread. But I'm sick and tired of seeing our team getting pushed around by the BLAZERS. I can't remember seeing someone control the boards on our team once tonight. Chucky and Landry are hustling, but they always do. Yao is getting pushed around like I imagine I would if I tried to play in the NBA. I never thought I'd say it, especially after we traded for Artest, but this team needs some toughness. I want to see some minutes from Joey Dorsey. That's right. He's got the size and toughness that our team needs right now, and I think for the rest of the season.
yep totally agree. we have nothing to lose at this point. it's still early in the season, adelman should tinker around with all of pieces to find out what works best. he should also use head a little more as well. head wouldn't have gotten owned by fernandez like barry is today.
We need size, rebounding, defense, and Battier. Artest has been disappointing except for the Dallas game so far. It seems like every ****ing rebound we try and get is tipped away by the other team and they get an extra shot off of it. We have 4 off rebounds compared to their 11.
OUr biggest person is getting pushed around by people that are 5 to 7 inches shorter than him. He looks like Ghorgie Muresan tonight. This team needs a little bit of size, and a LOT of defensive toughness. We'll get a little back with Battier, but we need Dorsey.
yao's defense and rebounding have been nothing short of atrocious. i know the sky isn't falling, but this team is going NOWHERE unless yao's play improves. he repeattedly misses rebounds, is out of position on defense, and has gotten scored on more times than i care to remember. opposing teams have NO FEAR driving on houston. yao has got to get his balls back. yao has not impressed the last few games.
a healthy shane battier makes a huge difference tonight. he can guard roy and artest can guard aldridge in the first half when aldridge was killing, then in the second half battier can chase fernandez around the floor, his foot speed and ability to fight through screens in better than ron. ron shut down roy, but he can't chase fernandez. the team will be fine defensively, its the terrible offense they are running right now that is worrisome.
It is partially. We really are playing very soft tonight. Right now, it looks like we're getting into it a little more, though. Partially, I want to see what Dorsey can do. He will bring needed toughness.Now is not the time to put him in, though. We could have used him in the second or third....

We need players who can play defense AND offense, just look at our roster: - Rafer good D, average O - T-mac great O, no D - Artest good D, average O - Scola good O, bad D - Yao good O, bad D - Brooks good O, average D - Landry average O, average D - Hayes great D, no O - Barry good O, average D - Head average O, terrible D + we need size but this has been a problem for years and yet we don't do anything about it. Morey has to work on getting a big PF and Deke back asap. Also, JVG needs to come out of his ABC deal and come in as assistant coach to get them back to the basics. I think RA is doing an okay job with the cards he's been dealt, but everybody's really overrating this team. Our bench is not that deep and we're not that good; forget about Battier coming back, giving us the defensive mindset we once had. I'm glad i'm not a coach because after Roy made that shot i would've gone on the court and screamed in Tracy's face, maybe even slap him. We're looking lazy out there and something needs to be done.
