    Good post, chinese.

Zhizhi is a very interesting player. Definitely deserves a look from a team needing a scoring C.

I was shocked to learn that ZhiZhi is averaging 42% from the perimeter.

Chinese, care to describe Wang's game? Does he have an inside game? And between Wang and Yao Ming, who is the better defensive player? How well can Wang defend the middle, especially at 220lbs?

By the way, is Yao Ming's surname Yao or Ming?

My only reservations about picking up Yao Ming is his health as well. At his size and weight, I think he can put up numbers at least as high as Bradley's. I think we need a significant defensive force at center more than offensive, although we need both. If Wang turns out to be the better scorer, but Yao Ming puts up numbers comparable to Bradley's career numbers (3.0 bpg, 7.3 rbg) and stays out of foul trouble, I'd still take Ming. We don't need another scorer (really, we don't.) We need players whose strengths can shore up our weaknesses: interior defense, reliable inside scoring, etc. Add to that the ability to hit the '3', providing space for the guards to get inside, and we're set.

    surname Yao
i hope they don't call him Ming Yao ever...

wang's game is a lot of post, baseline and jumpshots + mini fadeaway (more height than jumping back). he's also got a couple of moves he likes a lot involving a 180 dribble... he's fluid which makes him prone to to's in ball pokes

yao ming is smarter than bradley, doesn't whine, wants to own, and definitely has more offensive game. just draft him already and trade for wang

    Starting with Wang.
Wang has inside game, five years ago, at Atlanta Olympic game(?),
he was a kid playing the center for China Team, without recently
emerged Ming, he impressed many with his capabilities of scoring and blocking against D. Robinson and US team.
Someone started saying that this kid had game and should play in US.
Considering his unreplaceable role in China Team and Army team,
the Party would not let him go.
After five years, five National Champions and a few titles in Asian he won with his teammates. this is actually his first year in NBA.
Nilson told him that, I can remember, if you had the ball ten times
and you only shot nine, you still owe me one.
As a rookie, I guess it is hard for him to find a niche in the paint
if he can not receive respect from refs and he is asked to shot the damn ball every time and he is still very vulnerable against all American studs. What he is doing is shooting outside jumpers
at over 40%. In short, a very good first year to me. Inside game was prime part of his role back in China, he is just showing his versatility. 220 lbs? you are kidding me, I am almost 210.
The whole China is blaming him not go inside in NBA as he did in
China, I think he has no opportunity to do that with Mav.

    Ming Yao:
Yao is surname. I could not compare China league to CBA, but
I would say that two years ago, at Beijing "friendship game",
China team beat US NCAA elite team, which include Battier,
Dixon and more. NCAA is comparable to China League IMHO.

I believe you guys about Wang being heavier that 220lb. I'm surprised NBA.com is so off.

Maybe we'll get lucky, win the lottery and nab Yao Ming. Or maybe injury rumors will cause him to drop down to us.

Speaking of injury rumors, any of you in the know care to describe how injury prone Yao Ming is, if at all?

Ming has not missed any games this season due to any injury. He played very few minutes in some blow-out games, which makes his numbers look more impressive. He is posting similar numbers in the Chinese League postseason now, 33 pts, 16.3 rpg, 4.7 Bpg. At this stage, I would say he is a much better player than Wang, at least defensively. If you watched their head-to-head meetings in the Chinese league from last year. Wang had no chance against Ming in these games.

Wang Zhi Zhi is a free agent. Let's win Ming in the lotto and sign Zhi Zhi as a FA. They can lend cultural support to each other and communicate special plays in Chinese. They would be 2/3 of the Great Wall of China.
