Do you and your significant other tip differently?

I'm a 20%-er ever since I've had jobs in the restaurant industry.

Oh wait...this is a thread about significant others too.

 

No, we both do around 15% regardless. However, we have different ways of calculating 15% percent. I knock off the last digit to get 10%, then I divide that by 2 to get the 5% and add them together. She knocks off the last digit, divides by 2 and then multiplies by 3.

 

3 + 1 = 2 + 2

 

Yes, but it's surprising how many arguments you can get into by doing your math differently.

 

My girlfriend always asks me how much to tip.

 

We tip about the same amount in resturants, 15-20%. We differ on buffets. I don't tip at buffets. She does. If service is REALLY bad, I have no problem with no tip.

 

I tip decent, mostly based on quality of service.

my gf tips crazy though, sometimes close to 100%

 

I deliver pizzas, and I will agree with whoever said women tip less...It's something I've definitely noticed. I do make less on average from women.

 

Not that my wife tips badly (usually at least 20%), but I definitely tip better.

Hmmm, i tend to tip more if i get a waitress and not a waiter. I've also learned, the hard way, to not draw eye contact with the waitress if the S.O is present.

 

I tip very well for good service and my gf doesn't tip worth a damn.

I sometimes have to add to her crappy tip if she is paying.

 

I always pay so I always do the tipping, we ate at her favorite place the other day, the bill was only $9, I tipped $11, so $20 total, because I thought she did a good job. Usually I'm around 20%, but I've been known to tip nothing or just a few cents (if the bill is $26.33, then I may tip $.67 to make it $27.00 even, that's what I mean by a "few cents") when the service is bad.
